These Great Value Ultra Strong Paper Towels have been my go-to paper towels for years. They last me a few weeks for one room. However, when I put them in my cart, I couldn’t help but notice the $1.14 price increase. I might as well spend a few cents more and purchase rolls of Viva. I’m not sure if I would consider this a bargain buy anymore.
These are equivalent to Sam's Clubs' Member's Mark Select %26 Tear 2-Ply Paper Towels, just named for Great Value. I've used multiple brands of paper towels, and I ALWAYS come back to this particular brand of paper towels because THEY ARE THE BEST! The select and tear sheets are perfect no matter the size of the job needed, and these paper towels are super absorbent, and cleans any mess perfectly. You can choose a little bit or a lot, and I guarantee you it will clean up your mess efficiently! The price is about normal for how much you get - better the paper towels the better the price. But for me, other leading brands do not do the job correctly or don't even absorb well - thus why I insist on Great Value's Ultra Strong Paper Towels. I absolutely hate super thin sheets because they tear easily, and don't absorb. These sheets are perfect because they're just the right thickness, and they're decently premium! I will continue getting these for as long as I can!
I wasn't able to buy the big pack of paper towels. However, I was able to get the two pack paper towel. I enjoyed the fact the paper towel works as a temporary wash cloth. I used the paper towel to clean the sick, bathroom mirrors, dining room table, and wipe the sweat from my face when necessary. The towel can absorb a lot of liquids before it tears. The cost for the two pack did not break my pocketbook. I was able to wipe up spills too. Also, the paper towel has ridges, but they are perfectly in a design made to distinguish the paper towel from other brands. Thank you, Walmart.
Had high hopes for these paper towels after reading the positive reviews . Decided to buy just 2 rolls and give them a test drive. These Great Value paper towels are NO WHERE close to bounty ! They tear very easily, not absorbent to say the least . Even though the cost of 12 rolls is almost half the price of bounty you will end up using twice as many . With bounty you can use the paper towel let it dry and then reuse it . These I wouldn't even consider trying that . Just buy Bounty instead , one of the few times great value brand has let me down !!!
We have pets, so we go through a lot of paper towels. I WAS buying these on the regular because they are just as good as the name brand but I will now need to look for something new because the price has gotten out of control. They've gone up a few times but have stayed steady at around $4 for the past year or so. I had these in my cart for $3.98 yesterday and when I went to check out today they were "out of stock." So I searched the Walmart website and found the same paper towels re-listed for $5.12... let me repeat ... these are now over $5 for 2 rolls of GENERIC paper towels. That is a 25% increase. I know tariffs are driving price hikes, and guess who pays? US, not the country who makes them. Insane, at this rate I am going to go back to shopping at stores like Publix and just wait for a BOGO sale on the name brand paper goods. Or start using rags and washable dish clothes instead (you can get a large pack of the barkeeper kind for under $10).
Quality has drastically changed. I order the same paper towels for the last few years from Walmart. I added pictures of the roll I’ve had for about a week (right)and the brand new one I just opened(left). And the one my family of 5 has been using is still bigger around than the “newer look” pack I just bought.
These have changed over the last couple months. Used to be a good value to get a paper towel similar to Bounty or Brawny for the store brand price. Now these things are really thin and barely absorb. The worst part is the price keeps increasing so you're now better off buying the cheaper options for the same quality. Shame on Walmart for doing this. Shrinkflation at its finest.
Walmart has reduced the quality of these some point over the last few months. I've been buying these for years, but now not even two sheets can absorb the amount a single sheet could have absorbed. The worst part is that Walmart keeps increasing the price on these to where you're pretty much better off buying name brand, especially if the quality now is of the cheaper alternatives. If you want a cheap paper towel, save your money and get a cheaper brand. For now, I'm switching over to Brawny since those are good quality for about the same price.
I normally don’t write reviews, but I had to say something! Here is this product in a nutshell 2023 to 2024 total bounty dupe 2025 got thinner and thinner less than less sheets for more money but still a good deal 2026. You need to change your name to Kleenex that’s all I’m gonna say.
Paper towel size did not match double rolls description. The paper towel in the left is yours. The one on the right is what I expect a double rolls to look like.
