This is a Very good product to use to keep your seeds moist for germination and hills from washing out. Would work instead of covering seed with dirt if you have a problem area that drys out or you are busy or forgetful.). This product looks better then hey or other products that look messy. A bonus is the pellets disappear on there own without you having to do any thing but watering your lawn. After I spread the seed and covered them with pellets by hand I immediately watered the new lawn with seed and pellets just like I was watering the lawn without the pellets. There was a very heavy thunder storm an hour or two after i applied the pellets and amazingly the hill stayed perfect (no wash outs) then more thunder storms through out the two weeks it took to germinate the grass seeds, (still everything stayed in place) the top strip on hill is the only issue due to heavy rains. The other issue I had was I didn't have enough to spread on the bottom 170 Sf area and the rain washed it with the seeds together in bunches, With no rain it would probably work grate speeding it lightly covering everything. One bag is probably best for 119 to 136 square feet with it being thick covering every inch of the ground as I did on hill and top. The pellets saved the hill and the grass grew a little faster than normal cause seeds stayed damp the whole time they germinated, as long as I watered the pallets when they started drying out. when the pellets look lighter in color, just make sure to not over water. The photos are before and with pellets on the lawn after germination 8 days after planting. I didn't get any photos right after I applied but they are a light grayish tan when dry needs water and darker grey when wet if you pick one up you can fill the water moisture when pellets are good and its dry and shrinks when pellets needs water over time pellets get smaller tell they disappear.

To have the lawn that is the talk of the town you must use GreenView products. The seed is consistent in growth. The fertilizer is second to none. We bought this to cover the shade grass we planted at the back of our yard. I think it works ok to keep the ground moist because the grass is growing nicely

I had a large problem area in my front yard under a large Oak tree where the grass just refused to grow no matter how much I pruned out the tree. I actually wasted money resodding the area twice. I finally gave up and tried this as a last resort along with the product Greenview Airway Formula grass seed Shady Mixture. When the first stubble appeared after a horrible rainstorm that I feared washed away all the seed I was elated. I think this product helped keep the seed in place.

I used this 45 days ago. My grass is ready for the winter. I feel like I under-bought because I didn't have full 1/4 coverage, but my soil stayed moist and the grass grew. I recommend this product.

I purchased this along with grass seed to patch bare spots in my yard after a long hot New Mexico summer. This stuff rocks! It is very hard to grow grass in southern New Mexico and the weather is very unpredictable. I will never plant seed without this. It really does help 100%. I purchased another bag to always keep this product on hand.

I used this product to reseed the grass strip between my sidewalk and street and this product worked very well, much better than straw.

I didn't see where this worked as well as using straw. I've had better success with straw even though you will get some weed content with straw.

I purchased this product to cover bare patches. This product did not work for me. It just laid there and finally a few seeds popped through about 4 weeks later. By then the rain and birds had had their feast on my bare spots and the seeds were wasted. I will have to redo the bare spots in the spring. I will result back to using a layer of straw after prepping the bare areas.
