My landscaping skills are quite limited, so when I saw this available for home delivery I jumped at ordering it. I actually ended up ordering a total of 3 pallets, 98 - 20 pound bags each. I am a 70 year old woman and with the help of 2 friends, we got mat and bark down on all the flower beds on our 1/2 acre. I just love this. It is heavier than wood mulch so our constant Texas wind doesn't blow it away.
We love this rubber mulch! It looks fantastic and stays put even with the winds we get. Can't wait unti next spring to buy another pallet or two for the backyard! Who knew we would be rubber mulch super fans?
This purchase was a “no brainer” for us. It's a very dark black that looks neat in our flower bed. It claims to keep its color for years, but most importantly, it doesn't attract insects like regular mulch. The only inconvenience I can think of is that the smaller pieces often blow off during a storm; however, it very minimal and can be picked up by hand.
I love this rubber mulch. I have had it in my garden path for several weeks now and it looks beautiful. I is so nice and soft to walk on and you don't have to worry about getting splinters from regular wood mulch. I placed it over plastic garbage bags because grass and weeds seem to grow through the regular weed barrier that I did have. Great price while on sale. I bought the brown color which looks natural and was easy to put down and spread around. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
There is an odor but it is not a natural product so expected. Much easier to maneuver lift etc than real stone. Which is what I had used previously. This is my first time using the product so will take time to see if color last and how it holds up. Hopefully will deter bugs but we'll see. At least not attract them like wood mulch.
Took a chance on this product with no reviews. Ordered 2 of these which comes to 156.8 cubic yards or 4,000 pounds! Freight delivered and they put it right in my garage. If you order just 1 of these, it will come on two pallets, one about 6 feet tall and the other around 3 feet tall. They are in individual bags which actually wasn't too bad, just had a lot of recycle material for the next garbage day. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. It is a black color, there is no distinct shape to it and pieces can be as small as about a penny and as large as a credit card but it was rare to have such big pieces. The black is a good black...if you want a better perspective of the color, go in your garage and look at the tires on your car because it is literally shredded up tires without the metal liner. Speaking of metal liner, I have read reviews where people have had metal pieces in their rubber mulch....of the 175 bags I had, I only found one piece were I had to remove it because of metal. I also do not have a hose hanger and it lies in the mulch, my point being that if I drag the hose to wherever I need it, this stuff is like Mexican Jumping Beans! It will bounce all over the place so I am always picking up the pieces in the yard until I learn my lesson. Otherwise, so far so good. I have had this stuff for about a month now and am happy with it. The rain hasn't seemed to move it much and other than when I walk through it or drag something through it, the mulch typically stays where I had put it. I also do not believe it covers twice as much then the wood mulch - anticipate the bags spread equivalent. The pictures may show some random things mixed in with the mulch but it didn't come that way, there wasn't a mixture of anything but mulch in the bags but take note of the size and shapes of the mulch. TIPS: Wear gloves, have a knife handy to open the bags easier, you can attempt to use a rake to spread it but I found it better to just spread by hand, when dumping the bags out, the closer to the ground you pour the better so it doesn't bounce all over the place. I hope this goes without saying, if laying a new bed or replacing an older bed full of weeds, start over - rip everything out spray a TON of roundup to kill everything there and lay new black weed blocker and put this stuff in.
Only issue was the delivery I asked for it to be dropped at my garage door and instead they dropped all 18 bags at my front door. Two of the bags were opened and taped up so some mulch was missing from the bags. I would have picked it up at the store but that was not an option. What is the point of delivery instructions if they don't read them.
I ordered brown , to match the previous order, but received black. It did not match but my grandsons had opened the bags. I would have appreciated being informed that there was no brown like ordered. I will have to order more black to place in the center of our area.
Product received was actually Rubberific brand and not Nuscape as pictured on the website. The Rubberific is smaller pieces and inferior to the depicted Nuscape brand,
Item received damaged, poorly, packaged, and unsuitable for even in store purchase. The package had been taped together, and there were still gaping holes in the bag. Very disappointing and totally unacceptable.
