Halloween III: Season of the Witch

This old school classic brings back the nostalgia of anticipating Halloween as a kid. As far as the movie itself, critics would not say anything if this movie didn't have part 3 in the title.

Everything was fine

Though not really a direct to the series and not really have anything to do with the story of Michael Myers, it is a hiatus movie between 2 and 4 to give the writers more time to write the scripts for later movies.

There are many “stories” in the Halloween Universe connected to Michael Myers killing sprees in Haddenfield. Halloween 3 is not one of them. This particular film doesn't even have Michael Myers in it. It's not really a “slasher” film. Instead it was what was supposed to the beginning of an anthology series centered around Halloween night. Poor box office and critical reception hindered this idea and it was back to business as usual with the return of “the shape” six years later in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. Over the years the critical reception has somewhat changed and Halloween 3 is viewed as a standalone film telling its own story in its own way. In Northern California mysterious Halloween masks made by the Silver Shamrock factory have a “curious” effect on those who dare to buy them. They are actually quite dangerous and are designed to kill anyone who wears them. The “why” of this is a bit convoluted and messy, BUT if you can look past that it has its moments. I don't think kids under the age of 10 should watch it because the film might have them refusing to put a Halloween mask on, but teenagers should get a kick out it. Adults will be asking serious questions concerning some of the lapses in logic. It's a B-movie using the Halloween franchise name to pull audiences in and if you can overlook that you might enjoy the film.

no Michael....no Halloween. that being said still worth the watch

this movie was good but it had absolutely nothing to do with the other movies. if you want the whole Halloween set, i would buy this one, but if you are not a collector don't waste your money. it is not scary either.
