Hamilton Beach 4 Slice Toaster Oven

Attractive and functional design. Works well. As described except that the depth is 12 in vs 11.85 due to the protective stop mounted to the back which is removable. Made a difference to us due to the depth of the cabinet where it is stored. Cabinet door does not close tightly but not noticeable.

I have a small kitchen with little counter space. On hot summer days this little unit keeps my house cooler. I can bake crab cakes and heat up frozen packaged items like empanadas that the microwave can't do. The only negative is that the controls are a little complicated and difficult for my arthritic hands (squeezing required.)

I'll give it 5 stars because it's a neat little oven, has all the features I need and for the price, you can't beat it. The top does get very hot so you should make sure it has plenty of clearance and don't put anything on top of it. And the only other thing I noticed is, the cord is very short, maybe about 18", for a countertop it would work fine but I have it on wire shelving and made it work by plugging it into an electrical strip on another shelf.

I'm very glad I choose this toaster, it is exactly what I was needing for my space and needs. It has toasted and baked everything well, and I like opening the crumb tray from the bottom to clean. It's quiet and the bell is the perfect tone for me to hear from the next room. Perfect size to prepare a complete meal for one, or a few chicken breasts.

We need a toaster oven due to our old toaster kicking the bucket. Wanted something that was reasonably priced, with great reviews and looked good. This toaster oven is a hit. Meets all our requirements and more. Easy to use, toasts perfectly and is great for small spaces. Definitely worth it dont pass it up!!

FYI - I found this appliance to have a really short electrical cord. Had to rearrange things in order to place it right next to an outlet. It is also a bit smaller on the inside than my old toaster oven. But the old one died, so I will get over it. I have only used the toast setting so far. But it makes great toast! The price was very reasonable. So I am happy with my purchase!

I tried this toaster oven out today to make some bagels. The bagels came out great. Nicely baked on the top side and warm on bottom. Perfect. The only thing i don't like is the “sound” of the timer ticking asfood is cooking. I have the toaster oven in my room where i watch tv and do other activities like peacefully draw or write. The “ticking” i find kind of annoying. I don't recall my old toaster oven (different brand) having a ticking sound. Just a operaton light letting hou know it was on. i usually set a quiet timer that rings after set time to remind me when my food is done. The loud bing that occurs when the food in the toaster oven is done is absolutely fine. But i just don't like the ongoing ticking sound as food is cooking. Very decent toaster oven though and i would recommend this product. i bought it to use in my room, not kitchen, so i really wish it didn't have a annoying ticking sound when i use it. But i don't plan to use it like 5 or 6 times a day or something anyway. Although i do think in the future i may end up donating this toaster oven and getting something quiet if this thing ticks for every function. Watching a movie in my room and hearing ticking coming from this toaster oven is just not convenient at all. The toaster oven is two feet away from my tv on a very sturdy metal shelf. Safe and securely placed, and i can see it, so i don't need the ticking reminding me that it's operating at all. But still... it's a great product though. Love toaster ovens. Wonderful little inventions they are. :)

This is a compact toaster oven which was perfect because it did not take up much space on my limited counter space. It does hold 4 slices of bread and also the flat corning ware dish for when I roast potatoes. I did like the bagel feature. Design and colour was pleasing to the eye. Because of its smaller size its not heavy so it's fairly easy to clean the crumb tray, which is not a pull out tray like the lager toaster ovens, but a hinge tray on the underside of the oven. I have only had this oven for a couple of weeks now and use it every day and I'm quite satisfied with it.

It looks nice, but it's a pain to "program" - this dial has to be here, that one there, rotate the other by so much, etc. Also don't like that the door does not lie flat. Mine is on a stand and the door makes it hard to get the hot stuff out without a burn. Should have an auto off feature. I inadvertently letft the broiler on for over 2 hours - big fire hazard! Should have returned when I realized how the crumb tray is set up, but I figured I'd get used to it.

Given its high ratings both by both Walmart and Amazon shoppers, I had high hopes that I had finally found the right toaster oven after returning two others. One return was to Target due reviews about exploding door windows. The other was to Walmart because it was too large for our space. We'll, I plugged in this new one and attempted to make toast for the first time and . . . no heat at all. The heating elements were dead. Very disappointed and a pain to return. It was a bit smaller than I imagined but it would have fit our needs if it just worked.
