If you don't have a slow cooker how are you winning at life? Everybody needs one of these I went for so long without one and it has changed the way I make dinner you get everything prepped slap of all together and cook when you get back in the evening you're ready for a hot meal! Clean up is super easy too, highly recommend
Purchased for our daughter at Christmas to hopefully help her out with evening meals while working a full time job and providing and loving our two current grandchildren and never missing a beat as she is experiencing our third grandbaby who will be arriving any time now. She loved and I made sure she got one with a locking lid because none of mine had that and I would have loved that feature while using mine to travel to work. family, and friend events!!! Hope it at least allows her to find a much deserved mommy moment on the crazy days!!
For the price, it's good. My 10 yr old Kitchenaid, the crock split, but you can't really compare this Hamilton Beach to a Kitchenaid, when a Kitchenaid is nearly double the price. The lid is much less quality than the kitchenaid. It works, that is all that matters. I didn't want to spend a ton of money so win-win.
I originally ordered this pot with the dipper and immediately cancelled the order still waiting on my hold to be released back to my account it is six days now. When I cancelled that one I ordered this one because I don't need a dipper. I used it tonight and I love it everything was perfect and easy to use. I use slow cooking bags in it for easy clean up. I highly recommend purchasing this you won't be disappointed.
I've used this three times since I got it. Each time the dinner turns out perfectly. I used it with a four and a half pound roast and cooked it for 6 hours and it was for tender and fell apart when I tried to get it out of the Crock-Pot. I highly recommend this
Bought it for two main reasons. Needed a larger crockpot, and needed a lid that sealed, so I could transport. I have cooked a roast, turned out delicious . I filled it with chili, had on low all day, then took to a gathering, kept it warm all evening. It performed well. Only wish the lid could be clamped on the crock when it is in the refrigerator. This still had better features than others.
this one I love the most because a little handles that you seal if it tips over it won't spill the lid has a rubber gasket around it. and it locks it in just like you pressure cooker really. I like you can select the time how many hours you want now the kids knock the plug you lose what you have you have to figure it out on your own how many more hours you got left. but I love the fact you got a little more control over your temp your length of time and it goes to warm this is my second one my first one my granddaughter bumped it and broke the porcelain inside it costs as much by the portion as what does the pot so you might go by the whole thing loved it love it love it
In using this Crock Pot, I find that getting the right cooking time and temperature is quite difficult. My food is either over or undercooked. The hours are in 2hour increments which I do NOT like. There are only 2 (ok, 3 if you count warm) temperature settings -- high and low. If I had it to do over I would NOT purchase this product. I do like that the lid has a great rubber gasket and locks in place and that you can take the pot part out for carrying or storage or easy washing.
I was replacing my old crock pot which lasted about 18 years. It too was a Hamilton Beach and was a great product. Unfortunately this new one runs really hot. Too hot. on low it will boil your food. It is not a slow cooker. Your meal will be over cooked if you were to start it in the morning and return from work later that day. Very disappointed.
I only used twice and both times I came home to a boiled over mess. I have been using crockpots for years and I have never had one boil over. The heat setting was on low both times. I contacted Hamilton beach and I got no response from them. I have always bought the crockpot brand. Guess I will go back to that.
