Pleasantly surprised! For years appliances have become increasing, cheaply made while the price grows. I tried another brand and couldn't even get the lever to stay down. I received the Hamilton Beach this morning and within minutes I was able to throw some breakfast together. It worked great, no fuss, and I love all the options because I have to use gluten free bread and often times it's shaped funny. I hit the gluten free button, I didn't have to fish out my bread, it lifted up without issue, and 5 is my magic number for a good browning. I'm Texan. GDB-golden, dark, and brown.

Actually produces results evenly toasted on both sides! Has more settings than most other toasters but worth the trouble to get the best results. Bagels setting toasts on inside only if you want that. Settings for several types of bread, whole wheat, white,sweet(raisen bread) even gluten-free! Price is in line with average toaster. Even does a great job on single slice--even browning on both sides. Had it for one week with great results.

I like the size, the functions are easy to dial and everything comes out great. Bagels are soft with some crustiness.

Every once in a while you are pleasantly surprised by the performance of a small appliance. That was the case with our new Hamilton Beach Expert Toaster. After decades of experience with poorly performing toasters, both "cheap" and "expensive," our expectations were not very high. We were surprised! This toaster seems well made and thoughtfully designed. It has produced relatively consistent results repeatedly. It seems well made. The large long wide slots mean we don't have to cut off the ends of a slice of bread. Of the various settings, we have only used two, the whole grain and the bagel (or English muffin) ones. It is nice to be able to toast the cut side of a bagel or English muffin without burning the outside to a crisp. The frozen option seems to work well for those times when the only bread you have is in the freezer, as does the one slice option. It meets its design criteria, "IT TOASTS," and quite well.

This is perfect for all kinds of bread! Great toaster! The only small problem is that I wanted to buy a dust cover for it and because of its dimensions, I had to look for awhile online to find one. No big deal, just make sure you know its measurements if you order a cover!

I didn't expect all the features it came with. I was very impressed. I just wanted a small inexpensive toaster because my kids and nanny would walk off and forget they had toast in the oven. This toaster fit the inexpensive bill, but when I got home and took it out of the box, I was even more impressed. Works great.

Amazing!!! I had a toaster recently that would burn one slice at a certain setting and the next piece was barely toasted and the thing was maybe 2 years old! Stared at all the options Walmart has to offer and chose this one. The BEST! Now I can tell it at I am toasting, is it frozen, is there only 1 piece and how I like it! Oh and it its my small kitchen perfectly and didnt cost and arm and a leg!

once you find the right setting it works well,. bread toasted perfectly. the problem i found is if you toast two more slices of bread right after the first two they don't come out the same. they are not fully toasted. but if you wait until the toaster cools back down the toast comes out perfect or you could kick it up a notch and get perfect toast again. we have two high end toasters. one toasts one side much more than the other. the other one toasts the top more than the bottom. this one toasts perfectly.

Nice, useable features. y last toaster was Hamilton Beach and it lasted for years. This one is up-to-date for use with different breads, bagels, etc. I'd have given it 5 stars but I notice 2 of the wire elements are not heating to full strength. Didn't want to bother returning the item as this is rather minor. I do like the fact that the electric cord is positioned on the opposite side of the toaster from the control side. My old toaster had both on the same side which was cumbersome.

At first I was so excited for all the promise this toaster held after I had a Hamilton Beach toaster for over a decade and replaced it last year to find a very disappointing uneven toasting experience, so I stupidly decided to give Hamilton Beach and this one a shot. After 3 months it seems to be stuck in bagel mode or something as only one side of the bread would be toasted with the other coils not engaging. Needless to say I can't use it so don't hold your breath on this one. I am now officially a woman in her late 30's saying , "they just don't make things like they used to" . So not only thanks for making crummy, or not so crummy, in this case toasters, but thanks for making me also sound like my grandparents in cliche' speech before my time.
