Hanes Men's Cushion Crew Socks 6-Pack, Style 184/6

I was hoping to replace a set of Hanes gray crew socks that I bought a few years ago. They fit well and had substantial thickness and are among my favorites but finally wearing through. These looked the same on the website but when they arrived, I was disappointed. They are more like tube socks despite having a little heel area. They are large like tube socks and not well fitting. The material is lighter than my previous ones. I'm trying to wash and shrink them and see if they feel thicker after that but at this time I wouldn't buy these again.

Not really a quality product, but as fast as I go through socks I guess it's OK for the price. They're not as long as the last Hanes socks I purchased two years ago and that was a little disappointing. But they were rather inexpensive, so you do get what you pay for.

These new socks are not as good as the previous version. They are super loose and slide all around inside my shoes. I have been wearing Hanes socks for 40 years, and this will be the last time I buy them. Just terrible aocks.

Calling these socks "Cushion" is incredibly generous, they are as thin as any socks I own. The elastic in the ankles is barely adequate to hold the socks up, I doubt it will last beyond 5 washings. I would return them but the return expense would probably exceed any refund I might receive. In future, I will try to stick to local purchase of this sort of clothing item so that I can see and touch what I am buying.

I ordered these in 2023, size 10-13, and they've been great. Now, in 2026 , these, 6-12 one-size-fits-all, way too tight for my size 11 feet - lost my business.

I have been buying Hanes 185-6 gray socks for at least 15 years, if not longer. Those were the only socks that didn't roll under my toes with a fused ankle, and the gray matched everything. Plus they lasted at least a year! There are no socks on the market now with the same material blend and stitching (except these); however these are complete junk. They don't last like the 185-6 socks and are cheaply made now. The quality is GONE.

My husband was so happy with the old gray mens crew socks, but it appears they are no longer available! Instead, we are finding a cheaper version made with cheaper materials, making the socks super thin and uncomfortable. Plus, they are no longer available in gray. Please bring back the quality socks you used to make!

The photo tells a story. The current style 185L6 is on the bottom, while the style H856 (circa 2009) is on the top. Both are Size: 10-13. Obviously that are not the same size. Notice how the current style is not shaped like a foot - it's straight. That cause the fabric to wrinkle and pucker at the top when it is bent into the shape of a foot. Notice too how much larger the current style is. I'm an 11-1/2 and it's way too big around for me, while cramping my toes. It's just a weird shape for a sock. The seam at the tow seems too low and the ribbed part at the top seems too short. There is so much extra fabric in the width that it flops when I walk without shoes. And with shoes, it bunches up. Those 2009 socks were great. Possibly the best I've ever had. Hanes called them "Perfect Toe" and that was not much of a stretch. Even after an untold number of washings, they still fit great and feel great. I just don't understand how a company that got it right would go to all of the trouble to change it to something that is so much worse.

Size 6 to 12 is waaay too small for a size 12 foot. If it fits a size 6 foot by the time you get to 12 there is no blood circulation! Sounds like mindless groupthink. A little logic is in order
