Great Black Friday deal.
Incredible Film Collection! Harry Potter remains an iconic Film Series! Got an amazing price for this set, so I'm really happy with my purchase!
The Films: The complete cinematic journey through J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World spans a decade, evolving from the warm, vibrant colors of Chris Columbus's early films to the darker, moodier aesthetics defined by directors Alfonso Cuarón and David Yates. This collection is essential viewing for fans, detailing Harry Potter's quest to defeat Lord Voldemort across eight successful and critically praised adaptations. Picture Quality (Video): This expansive collection offers an overall strong but variable upgrade. All eight films benefit from HDR10 and feature 4K Ultra HD resolution, which significantly boosts clarity, color, and contrast. The greatest visual improvements are found in the first two films (Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets), which were derived from a 35mm film source, resulting in exquisite fine detail, natural film grain, and rich, life-like colors thanks to the HDR pass. The later films, mastered from a 2K Digital Intermediate, still look excellent but gain their primary advantage from enhanced color grading and superior compression compared to the original Blu-rays. Audio (Sound): The set delivers a fantastic, dynamic audio experience across the board with an immersive DTS:X object-based soundtrack for all eight films. This is a massive highlight, truly utilizing height and surround channels to place the viewer directly into the magical world. From sweeping Quidditch matches and complex spell effects to the deep echoes within Hogwarts Castle, the sound design is authoritative and detailed. John Williams' iconic scores, along with the later contributions by Patrick Doyle and others, sound expansive and powerful. Verdict: The Harry Potter 4K collection is highly recommended and represents the definitive way to experience the saga at home. While the video quality peaks early in the series due to source limitations on later entries, the consistent application of HDR and the phenomenal DTS:X audio track make this a worthwhile and immersive upgrade over previous standard Blu-ray releases.
The first 6 movies are not a huge jump from blu ray, a bit disappointing to be real with you. On top of that all the discs came loose. The case is BAD like it can barely hold the disc because the locking mechanism is so thin and small. I do not recommend this for the way too high price.
