I have never owned a universal socket set (I've borrowed when I needed one), so I was excited to be able to review this one. There are not many projects I do in an apartment but when I have one, this is one tool that is awesome to have on hand. Very versatile and can handle lots of different shape bolts, nuts, etc. If you are a DYI'er, this is one tool to have in your tool box.

You could use this instead of regular sockets but for me I would only use it for that in an emergency. I prefer to have a socket be the correct size for the nut. However this works great for eyelets and hooks. I like that it has the drill bit attachment as well. I used this with a drill bit attachment and installed 12 hooks for hanging baskets and it was so quick and easy to do. Definitely worth having in your toolbox and maybe an extra one in your vehicle.

This Universal Socket set is unlike many other tools that are cheaply made and only last a short time. This tool is made of top quality metal and has a bit of heft to it. The unique socket eliminates the need to fumble around looking for just the right socket to use as it adapts to many size sockets. The quick-release button works great. It is my opinion that this one tool is a must-have for everyone's toolbox and I most highly recommend it to all.

As a 65 year old grandmother, I don't really have the need for an entire socket set or a bunch of tools of any kind, however, the Hart 3 piece universal socket set has proven to come in very handy for me. Since I am relatively weak, especially in my hand strength, sometimes using a pliers to pull a hook or eye-bolt out of the wall is impossible. Using the universal socket, I have been able to remove hooks and eye-bolts with ease. To assemble the socket is extremely easy and takes up very little room in my junk drawer where it is always accessible. The Hart universal socket fits standard size fasteners from 1/4” to 3/4” and metric from 7mm to 19mm and has a beautiful chrome finish. I can't say how this wonderful new tool will hold up under heavy use, but for me, it is perfect. This Hart universal drive socket also comes with a limited lifetime warranty. My son has also used it when he has come to my house to do a few chores, and he was also impressed. I would not hesitate to recommend this tool, especially to people who don't need a lot of different kinds of tools.

The ratchet itself is actually made pretty well. The switch is smooth and feels solid. I only take one star off because of the socket. Like most universal tools, it just doesn't work well. Perhaps if you were in a jam then sure, but don't expect to replace your socket set with it. Summary -- ratchet great, socket ok.

Cheaply made. Will work for small projects. Nothing that needs strength behind it
