HART 7-1/4-Inch 9-Amp Compound Miter Saw, HTMS01

The hart miter saw is so easy to set up, easy to use, and lite weight. My son is remodeling his house and I have been using the miter saw to help trim cabinets and walls. It has the dust bag so you can use it inside without any problems. The saw is lite weight and easy to move from room to room. Any beginner can use this Hart miter saw with precision cuts.

I was overjoyed to be able to use this HART Miter Saw. It actually couldn't have come at a better time. We are doing some minor home renovations. We put in molding and new flooring. So, we had to replace all of our baseboards. With the saw, we were able to do all the cuts ourselves. My husband did all the cutting and said that it made very precise cuts and was very easy to maneuver. He said it made seamless miter cuts and seamless cuts for the corners. It was definitely a life saver, making our project go so much more smoothly than we planned. My favorite feature is the sawdust vacuum. It sucks up the sawdust as you're cutting in a catcher bag that's attached to the saw. This means mess we have to clean up after using it. A+ from our DIY family!

I am not the best at tools but this saw was pretty easy to assemble. We wanted to build an oriole feeder so something simple really and this saw was helpful with this task. Very clean cut and I still have all my fingers! Has an adjustable bevel, trigger lock for safety, carbine tip blade and my favorite, it's light weight. My husband has a bigger saw but for my needs I like this one. Great little saw if your doing small jobs.

Every now and then a tool comes along that I didn't know I needed until I used it. This Hart 7-1/4-inch Compound Miter Saw is one of those tools. Before, I used a manual miter saw box, which was close to the angles I cut, but not accurate. I just sandpapered the dings and dangs, then used wood putty to make my cuts look accurate. Paint covered it all up. NOT anymore, since I started using this Hart 7-1/4-inch Compound Miter Saw. Out of the box it took me approximately 30 minutes to set-up this miter saw including squaring the blade to the fence and squaring the blade to the miter saw. The only adjustment I did was setting the indicator screw to zero after I squared the blade to the fence. It is extremely important to square the blade to the fence and vertically to the miter table. Squaring the blade insures the accuracy of your miter and compound miter cuts. This Hart Compound Miter Saw is absolutely amazing as to how simple the operations are. My Grandson was over and he needed a 10 Inch Picture Frame (see pics), which he was going to paint pink to give to his sister as a birthday present. I outlined in detail on a paper drawing what we needed to do, but told him I was uncomfortable letting him use the saw because of his age and inexperience. However, I encouraged him to come over and 'help' Grandpa to frame all of my windows in wood trim casings. He was excited to 'learn' after we cut out his picture frame using this Hart Compound Miter Saw. WooHoo! PROS: * USER-FRIENDLY * Easy to learn the operations. Especially, for beginners there is a comprehensive Operators Manual (included). A full sized manual (8 x 11-1/2) can be downloaded from the Walmart Product Page website. This manual includes most helpful expanded drawings and illustrations with details. * WELL-BUILT * Major components are constructed from Aluminum, Steel, and ABS Plastic. It is lightweight and easily transportable anywhere around my house. I have fastened this miter saw to a 30 inch by 30 inch, ¾ inch thick piece of plywood for stability, but can easily use it on my saw horses with a 4 foot by 8 foot piece of plywood for longer pieces of wood. * SAFETY * Features a trigger lockout built in the miter saw handle. A work clamp, which can be used on either side of the saw blade, to clamp your wood piece to the miter table for stability. Lower blade guard made of strong, shock resistant, and lightweight ABS, which is self-retracting as it is lowered over the wood piece to cut. Always wear eye protection and never get your hands in the saw cutting area. * ACCURACY * Once I set this saw up with the proper adjustments specified in the Operators Manual, I was impressed with its accuracy using the various settings for miter and bevel cuts, and, or, both. Although this miter saw can cut up 2 x 4s, and, can cut up to a 4 ¼ crosscut, I will not use it for that. If I need to cut larger pieces of wood I will use my circular saw or table saw. This Hart 7-1/4-inch Compound Miter Saw is a finely tooled piece of equipment, which I will only use for trim pieces up to 1 x 4 inches wide. * HIDDEN VALUES * I love this Hart Compound Miter Saw. It has provided me with a superior way to make my miter and bevel cuts as against doing it manually with an inexpensive miter box. It also has excited my 12 year old Grandson to learn more about wood working and wood trims with Grandpa. How cool is that? Priceless. . . . CONS: * NONE In summary I highly recommend this Hart 7-1/4-inch Compound Miter Saw. It is well-made, accurate, and easy to operate. For a Beginner, Veteran wood worker, Home DIY this is a 'must' in your tool collection and on your work bench. I can frame my windows with casing trim, make shelving, door frames, picture frames, make outdoor furniture, kids projects, and crown molding. Just a partial list of what I can do with this Hart Compound Miter Saw. Buy one. The Hart 7-1/4-inch Compound Miter Saw is not expensive and you won't be disappointed with the quality.

Wow. For a seemingly small, compact miter saw, this Hart Compound miter saw is very impressive. My husband hasn't stopped raving about it. It's so light weight he couldn't believe it could out do his big, old heavy duty miter saw- but it does. It's so light weight and compact he can easily carry & transport it anywhere instead of before having to bring wood and materials home from a job to do at home. Now it's on the job with him. He says the motor is powerful and works like a dream... Making perfect cuts for door frames, moulding, etc

Very good price for small mutter saw. I add the saw to my 22 yrs old work bench.

The Compound Mitter Saw pretty much comes assembled you only have to add a few parts. The instructions are easy to follow and saw it's self is easy to use. We used it to make a small garden bed, it cuts 2x4 effortlessly and it's lightweight.

Very easy set up..... good quality....only wish is that it were bigger... Cuts well... stores great..... reccomend definitely if ur using 2x4s ......

This is a nice saw, I'm always a little worried working with electric saws because I don't do it much, but this one is so easy to use and figure out. Once out of the box you just have to cut the plastic straps and push the lock pin back to open it up. Push to the side for bevel cuts, there is a cut guide on the side for that and a lock knob on the back to hold it. The front table moves with a cut guide there for miter straight cuts, once adjusted where you want it you tighten the lock knob. Some of them have a piston that the saw moves front to back, this one does not seem to move front to back. The blade wrench slides into a little hole on the side for storage. It comes with a dust bag that goes on the back to collect sawdust and a clamp to secure the wood if needed. The book says it will cut lumber 11/2 inch to 41/4 inch depending on the settings you have it on. I cut a 2-inch piece of wood just to try it out; the cuts are smooth and straight. It will make the job easy and fast.

I loved the small chop saw and it worked great until it was time to change the blade. The bolt and retaining washer would not come off to change the blade. So, I bought another one and it worked perfectly and yes, I was turning the bolt the correct way. Still haven't gotten the blade off so I just sharpened the blade on the saw
