I received this Hart Advanced 5-LED Stud Finder from the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program to use and review This is a very good product. The 5 LED's tell you exactly where the Stud is. You can easily hit dead center of a Stud every time. This sensor also shows where the exact edges of the Stud are. A very nice safety feature warns you where any Hot Wires are so they can be avoided. Received my Hart Advanced 5 LED Stud Finder some weeks ago, and this Stud Finder came just in time for my remodeling needs. This Stud Finder is accurate and makes life much easier when trying to hang pictures or trying to find the Stud for installing a wall TV Mount. So if you’re looking for the perfect Stud Finder the Hart Stud is the one for your needs.

The item is said USA made on the package, but it then said on the back of the device "Made in USA with global components". That part - go figure! Apart from the origin, the device is great. I took a photo of where I hung the frame - right on. The stud was found correctly and it also said the electrical wire was also present. Thank god I did not shock myself back then when I drilled the holes. This electrical wire feature is a plus. The device was very quiet when doing the search. A plus.

I have never trusted stud finders. I have had a few and both where extremely inaccurate although made by reputable manufacturers. The hart stud finder was far more accurate and also notified me of electrical wires in the wall. The multiple led lights clearly show the stud location so tying into the center of a stub is easily done. I also like that it uses 2 AA batteries as opposed to a 9v. Another thing is they made the stud finder larger so it fits in the hand much better than previously owned finders. The nylon glides are generous in size so they should provide a long scratch free service life. All in all, this product easily scores a 5 star rating. I included 2 pictures. On showing the electrical wire present indicators and the other showing the stud finder clearly showing the center of the stud.

We recently moved our rooms around and switched dining room and play room. That means I moved wall decor. I hung a few heavy things that needed a stud. This stud finder did not disappoint at all. I found a stud every time because of it. While the stud finder is on the wall you push and hold the side button, move it along the wall until the red lights show. Obviously this is how moth stud finders (at least the ones I’ve used) work. But none have worked this good. It also shows live wires which is helpful. The bright yellow lights for live wires is easy to see while the red lines show.

I have been using stud finders since they were magnets that detected drywall nails in the wall studs. I can't believe how far the technology has advanced. The Hart 5 led stud finder does the one thing that no other finder I am aware of does... It tells you visually when you are close to the stud by having a wider sensor range than its competitors... This is incredibly helpful when trying to zero in on the exact center of the stud... When hanging a light weight object such as a picture or clock dead-center is not that big of a deal. However, when mounting a bracket for a 70' LED Television that I just paid $1500 for, finding the dead center of the stud is CRITICAL! I tested this finder on an open wall area in our storage room. This allowed me to see exactly what was and wasn't being detected and how accurate the device was. Scrolling across the wall the sensors lit on the edges every-time and when I had 3 solid lights in the center the middle light was exactly in the dead center of the stud. Ran this test a dozen times and it worked perfectly every-time, even alerting me to the electrical wire that was nailed to the stud I was testing. Pros: 1. This product is made in the USA!!! Support your fellow Americans and their jobs. 2. Requires 2 standard AA batteries... Yes the inexpensive ones not the AAA or Button cells that cost extra$$. 3. Accurate and easy to read dead center indication 4. Detects Electrical wiring Cons: 1. The only thing I didn't like was that it came without batteries. Not a deal breaker, more of an inconvenience. If you are in the market for a stud finder, this is the one for you. Accurate and easy to read with a wider sensing pattern than any stud finder that I have ever used.

I just bought a new house and am in the process of hanging lots of pictures and shelves, etc. I bought this style of stud finder to assist with finding the 'center' more accurately. Nothing is 100% but this seems to be a really nice device and works well. I am not sure what drywall our house is, but i have found it works better for me on the 1" setting rather than the 1/2" setting. I like the idea of teh electric detector and it works regardless of what mode, however i am finding that it may be way sensitive, but i guess that may be a good thing. Hard to pinpoint exact electric behind the walls but at least it gives me some idea to be a little more careful i guess. I also do use a magnet to find the nail holes but i like using this as well. I would definitely recommend as a basic good stud finder of this style.

This is a must have for the professional or the home owner. It does a great job of not only finding studs, but electrical as well. Another feature that I really like is that the stud finder also shows the center and the edges of the studs. This is great for hanging pictures, hanging shelves and more or less any thing where you nee to locate a wall stud. Also if you have ever had the misfortune of running a screw or nail into a power wire, you can understand why the feature that identifies the location of power wires is such a great feature. I have tried a number of other brands and found them to be far less accurate, which can be quite frustrating. There is nothing quite like trying to hang a new shelf only to wind up with a wall that looks like someone was doing target practice with a shot gun, because your stud finder is so inaccurate. This is great stud finder and well worth the price.

This advanced stud finder by Hart has 5 sensors. Having more sensors configured in a wider array allows a stud finder to be a little more accurate and makes using it easier. this 5 sensor stud finder makes determining the precise location and width of internal wall studs quite a bit easier than your standard stud finder. It really couldn't be any easier to use. Just depress the button on the side of the grip and manually scan your wall. There are 5 LED's that will light up one at a time as it detects them when sliding the stud finder over the wall. This stud finder by Hart has an Active Learning Technology that allows it to provide more accurate readings as you continuously scan a single surface without shutting it off. It also has the ability to detect live electrical wires and has an LED indicator that illuminates once detected. The way this stud finder works is by scanning for inconsistencies inside your wall. I have an old home, built in the first quarter of the 1900's. My walls are mostly plaster covered wooden slats, so it has a really hard time scanning the inside of my walls. It is still good for finding electrical wiring though. So for me, it doesn't work very well inside of my home. I can get a general idea of what is going on behind the wall after a lengthy scanning session and making notes of what it sees and where. It does tend to get a bit more accurate the longer I scan. I'm sure this scanner would be much more effective for newer homes, but for my home, it is a lot of work and trial and error. Based on that, I can't give it a perfect rating, so I am giving it 4 stars.

I wouldn't say this is the best option. It feels cheap. It would light up in a certain spot on one sweep and then wouldn't in that same spot te next time. That says to me that it is not accurate, but hard to know for sure without putting holes in the wall. I've also seen ones that beep and light up and this one does not beep so that is something to keep in mind. Overall it's mediocre.
