HDMI To RCA AV Adapter Converter Cable CVBS 3RCA 1080P Composite Video Audio

This device lets you turn your old analog TV into a smart streaming device with the use of a Roku. Very easy to hook up. Just use the three color coated cable RCA jacks and you don't need to use the power. The Roku device has its own power source. Picture is great and now I can keep my old TV instead of throwing it away, well worth the price.

just what i needed

I think it is excellent and it works as they had described it. It was delivered to my house from that third party seller through Walmart and the delivery was great. This adapter is powered, of course, and I connected the adapter to AC with its included USB cable and using a 5V USB adapter I have to a wall AC outlet. I hooked it up to an old Sylvania 14 inch tube CRT TV that I like watching very much. I connected it to my cable television DVR cable converter box with an HDMI cable and I watch it every day now. I would recommend this HDMI to composite adapter converter to anyone.

We recently switched from Optimum to Verizon Fios. We have an old Sony TV in the basement -- with a deep picture tube. It has a coax input -- which the old Optimum system used. And it has two RCA inputs --a white one for audio and a yellow one for video. The new Fios system had HDMI outputs. I bought this Converter to adapt the Fios HDMI to the Sony TV's RCA inputs. It needed some extra stuff, which I happened to have: first, it needed a 5 volt power supply of the type used for charging cell phones (the Converter does NOT come with this power supply, but it comes with a USB cable that connects my charger to the Converter). Second, it needs a male to male RCA cable -- I had one with yellow leads on each end, but I think any color would do. Third, it needs a male to male RCA cable for the audio. Now, there are two audio connections on the Converter -- for left and right stereo channels, but my Sony TV only has one audio input. It just so happens that I had, in my box of old cables and stuff, a cable that has two RCA male plugs on one end and one RCA plug on the other end. So, I plugged the two-end into the Converter, and the one-end into the TV. I think the sound would be OK if I did not have that two-to-one RCA cable, but I'm not sure. Anyway, the TV works fine with the new Converter!

Doesn't account for overscan and has no way of compensating. Also, out of the box assumes you are plugging it into an ultra HD CRT, so be warned if you are plugging it into a normal CRT TV.

The adapter was not good for what I needed

it's bad that it gets shipped instead of me picking it up, I requested that it be delivered to the nearest Walmart to where I live (Kearny NJ) and I would go there and pick it up, but I was totally ignored. Then I thought about giving this shipping thing another chance and was stupid enough to order a converter box that I don't know where it is. From now on, if I can't pick it up, then forget about it.

I could not get it to work so I really don't have a review at this time.
