I have a few DVD players that are not compatible with the smart TVs this took care of the problem. The HDMI for the TV and 3 prongs to the DVD player.

The cable did not work as I thought it should be in the hdmi E or even a DVI output to the three RCA no sound was available. Still trying to test to see if it will work one way or another but for older equipment it was a bummer.

will never buy from this company again
only received one of the converters - contacted the company - contacted them again two weeks later to see if they had any updates - they replied how about a 10% discount - wrote back that since I only received half of my order that 50% would be fair but would prefer that they send me the second converter - they said to send back the one I received and they would refund my money - after what's transpired so far I don't trust them
