Head and Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo, Clinical Strength Cooling Itch Relief, with 1% Selenium Sulfide, 13.5 fl oz

I finally found a dandruff shampoo that really works. My hair is clean but not stripped, and no more itchy, flaky scalp. It's gentle on the skin - it doesn't burn the like some of the others do.

It works wonder for severe dandruff and scalp itching. My dandruff reduced just after one wash. Menthol in it helps to cool down the scalp. I love this.

short of smelling as if ive just stepped out from the underworld, this shampoo does the trick for my dandruff %26 extremely itchy scalp. the smell makes me nauseous if my hair stays damp, %26 blow drying isnt pleasant, but theirs no quats in this formula so its basically the only shampoo i can use without dieing to give me some relief from my eczema.

Worth a try if you have itchy scalp and the formulas containing pyrithione zinc are not working for you. It has certainly helped me. It doesn't dry out my hair and scalp excessively, but if you have a tendency to be dry conditioner may be necessary. My scalp has a tendency to be a little oily. I highly recommend this shampoo.

I want to like this product, but it is MUCH stronger than the regular Head %26 Shoulders as well as the "Bare" Head %26 Shoulders. It advertises it is gentle enough for "every wash", but I definitely do not think it means(or should mean)every day, which is how often I wash my hair. It is a bit misleading, but in some of the ads it does say use 2-3 times a week, so I am not certain if I just misunderstood or am getting the directions mixed up with one of the other several Head %26 Shoulders products I have. I thought it was a miracle; At first. After the 4th day of daily use my scalp began itching worse than before and became red and inflamed looking, so I discontinued use of this and the other Head %26 Shoulders products I have and only used baby shampoo-conditioner. The itching and inflammation quickly disappeared, but I noticed more hair fall in my brush. Basically, it's supposed to stop the itching, which is does at first, but then after a few washes the itching is so severe it will wake you up and it adds inflammation, which the regular Head %26 Shoulders has never done. I likely won't buy this again, but I might use it once a week until what I have runs out. It could just be my scalp is too sensitive for the product and most definitely too strong for daily or even every other day use, for me. I have thin, fine, shoulder length hair.

I bought this because I have a dry scalp and it has helped a little bit but so far I still have the itching that I thought would be relieved with this.
