Very heavy duty unit
I was astounded at how heavy duty this unit is, and how versatile it is for mounting options. I was tempted to bolt it through the side of my truck bed or on the tailgate, but instead opted to mount it on my headache rack, even though I could just as easily put it on my front brush guard. It mounted perfectly and is VERY secure. Well worth the money. I will probably order more.

Easy to install
The product was as described. It was easy to install and it lifted the spare tire up, just enough so it didn't hit at the launches. I would buy this again.

5" maximum frame width, mis-matched lug bolts
A fairly well-built spare tire carrier. My equipment trailer tongue frame is a 6" wide channel and this as i comes will only handle a 5" wide frame. I modified the mounting plates by welding 1/2" flat steel to the original brackets and drilling holes for the wider mount width. I gave it a coat of gloss black paint and it looks good and fits well. One drawback is the 2 carriage bolts sent with the unit to attach the spare tire. Those carriage bolts were 1/2-13 (coarse thread), but my (and most) wheel lugs and lug nuts are 1/2-20 (fine thread), so a trip to the hardware store was needed to get two 1/2-20 replacement bolts. I didn't want the spare to be anchored in place and have to use a separate wrench to undo them. Now all trailer wheels and the spare have the same size and look for the lug nuts.

The plate that holds the spare tire lug bolts has long slots that concern me about the strength of this part.
