Hefty Kitchen Trash Can, 20.1 Gallon Plastic Step Garbage Bin with Foot Pedal Lid, Black

This trash can exceeded my expectations!! Not only does it have a design to hold your trash bag in place, but it holds so much! I was able to use one 30 gallon trash bag and filled it with our regular daily trash, a 21 lb box of empty cat litter, a large bottle of empty Landry detergent, and more!!! Don’t hesitate to buy if you are on the fence! Please don’t buy anything but 30 gallon trash bags to go with it. Enjoy!

We just got the Hefty Large Trash Can and it’s exactly what our family of five needed! It holds a ton of trash, which means fewer trips to take it out—huge win in a busy household. The lid fits securely, helping keep odors contained, and the wheels make it super easy to move around even when it’s full. Sturdy, spacious, and practical—definitely a must-have for bigger families!

Luckily I had 30-gallon trash bags on hand. The 20-gallon only goes about halfway. Other than that I love this trash can it is huge. It doesn't have the plastic inserts to hold the bag, but you put the bag on each side in the back where the slots are to hold it, so it doesn't fall in, which is great! The lid pops off making it easy to clean the other one did not my last 20-gallon one did not it was very difficult to clean and the lid broke after about a month.

I purchased another, smaller Hefty trash can earlier. It too was very high quality. This one Is almost gigantic and a great storage bin for my pet food. Can't say enough good things about this one, especially if you are looking for capacity without buying a full-sized trash can.

I love this trash bin. It holds so much more than my old 13 gallon and doesn't take up much more space than the old one. It has helped not having to take it out so often. I seldom use the foot pedal to lift the lid because of where it's placed but it works great. I would definitely recommend it.

I love this trash can and you can't beat the price. I needed something bigger for my kitchen then the standard 13gal and I needed a lid because when my baby girl started walking she was constantly getting into the trash so having a lid that I could put a child proofing strap on was a life saver

Daughter-in-law replaced her kitchen trashcan 13 gallon with this one and she liked it. And several of her friends they have a lot of get together with friends family, etc. there were people notice that she had a bigger trashcan and we're happy about that big house like I said, they meet a lotand they'd always have to change the trashcan out two or three times when they have parties and dinners, etc. so now it's usually just one trashcan full anyway he liked it

I bought 21 gallon bags to fit this, and of course they don’t fit which I can’t understand why. So I’m out of $10 and I’ve got to buy 30 gallon bags. I’m also not sure how to insert the bags with the inside hooks in the can.

I like that this trash can is a decent size, but for the money it’s not worth it. The part that you step on to open the lid snaps out of its mechanism and becomes loose when you try to step on it. It has to be snapped back in every time. The whole reason I bought the trash can was for the stepping mechanism, so it’s pretty disappointing.

Great size, but poor design at the back of the can We really like the large 20.1-gallon size of this trash can. We have a large family and use it in our kitchen, so it's great not having to change the trash bag as often. The step pedal and lid are also convenient. Unfortunately, the design at the back of the can is a major problem. Because of the way the lid-opening mechanism is built, the trash bag cannot fit snugly around the entire top of the can. There is an open area at the back where the bag pulls away from the inside of the trash can. Food and other trash can easily fall into this gap, ending up outside the bag but inside the trash can. This happens whether we use a 20-gallon bag or a larger 30-gallon bag, so the problem is not the size of the trash bag. It is the design of the can. You can't simply pull the bag up higher over the back because it can get caught in the lid mechanism when the lid opens and closes. My husband and I both find this very frustrating. I understand that the design may allow the trash can to sit closer to the wall, but I would much rather have the can stick out a little farther than have to pick food and garbage out from behind the bag every time I change it. It's a shame because we really like the size and would otherwise be very happy with this trash can. The lid mechanism and the way the bag fits at the back need a better design.
