I was raised on "beans on toast" in the UK and there was only one brand of beans considered in our house - Heinz. Yes, they are available elsewhere over here in the US, but not at the 'bargain' price offered by Walmart - and to have a case of Heinz Baked Beans delivered instead of having to make a trip to the store - 'life is good"
These Heinz Beanz are the British recipe, not to be confused with any American version of beans. They have a good tomato based sauce that is not so cloyingly sweet as American baked beans. They are delicious hot, cold, or room temperature. It's ironic that I live an hour from Pittsburgh where the Heinz brand started and have to import these wonderfully flavorful beans from the UK!
Heinz baked beans are very expensive but they are genuine British beans. My son loves them
When they arrived, nearly every can of Heinz Baked Beans was dinged/dented/damaged. I contacted the seller and sent a picture of how bad they were. I guess it was a pallet truck crushed them! This would have been a one or two star review, but they were responsive and shipped me a well packaged replacement where none of the tins were damaged and they sent them quickly. Thank you to a good seller for making it right. We don't buy dinged canned foods because the contents can be bad for you if air got in. We do like our Heinz beans!
Walmart site and ad says 415g, but cans come as 390g cans. Seemed like a deal, price per volume, but not so much with less volume.
The beans are great...well, the tins I could use. The rest were in bad shape due to poor packaging the 3 day delivery turned into 8!
The cans, all of them came with dents, absolutely all looking as they have been thrown around hard enough in order to bend the them.
PSA: Love these beans and they are hard to get in the US. Thought I had found a good deal but ended up getting ripped off by a 3rd party vendor who sells through Walmart. (Why is that allowed) So make sure to check the reviews of the company selling these. I never got the beans.
I saw the comments from others but contacted the shipper and reminded them to mark fragile and pack safely. 6 cans fine, 6 cans so badly damaged that it is harmful to eat and CANNOT BE OPENED WITH A CAN OPENER anyway. They don't sell these Heinz Baked Beans in my area, so I will keep the good cans and try to get a refund for half of my order, if possible. VERY disappointing experience. If you are far from Florida be warned they don't seem to have control over damages occurring almost every time.
Most the cans were too dented to use. Waste of money. realized my local Costco has them for cheaper and not dented. Do not recommend, check your Costco
