Tastes almost like regular tomato sauce that we grew up with. I like that there is no sugar in it and the carb %26 cholesterol is almost zero still maintaining the richness and consistency. Some people have mentioned an aftertaste of pepper , a little spicy, but not me. This is the only ketchup that you will find at my home.
Heinz has been making ketchup for a long time. They know what they're doing and they really do what they were doing when they made the quote, no added sugar". I love ketchup on a hotdog, a sausage sandwich with cheese, and fries. And now I can have it without guilt. It's really delicious. Try it. You'll like it. No way after taste just taste like really great ketchup.
A big help to the neighborhood DIABETIC, no sugar added, how long it took the industry to wake up to the endless poisoning the keep putting on us with all the sugar, salts, fats, and high carb ingredients that don't need to be there. So thank you for trying to make things somewhat healthy but still a long way to go. Recommended definitely and tastes the same too
Heinz Ketchup has for me been the best out there, but this No Sugar product tastes as great or even better! Sugar is bad for the human being and should be taken in small and infrequent amounts!. I've read that tomatoes are horrible for people that have arthritic pain, but if I choose to consume a small amount once a week, AND without sugar, I feel that my knees and diet can afford to do this treat once in a while. I am taking a "tea"product that shuts off the hunger signal and even with consuming small amounts of this ketchup, I have lost 45 pounds in about 5 months! '
I use enough less sugar ketchup to cover 4 slices of beef liver. Leave a few hours or overnight covered in the fridge. Then simmer in plant based butter %26 paper thin sliced onions also enough to cover the sliced liver. I use a large fry pan. Cook until rare %26 onions turn translucent. Excellent with mashed potatoes %26 broccoli or a side of buttered carrots. If reheating a slice at a time, I simmer or microwave until medium rare %26 delicious. Serve with lots of onions.
It is lower in sugar and those trying to avoid sugar will likely appreciate the lack of sugar added. I do buy it for my elderly mother who is diabetic but sometimes enjoys a tiny bit on her hamburger. She enjoys it. Recommended.
is ketchup doesn't have anything missing except for the sugar. it has great taste and isn't any different than other ketchup. nice consistency not watery. I actually like this better than regular ketchup
I recommend it because there are so few options for sugar-free ketchup. I don't know why ketchup is so sweet anyway! It's a savory product. It shouldn't taste sweet. But if you like sweet ketchup, this will meet your expectations. Sweet with alternative sweeteners. I would prefer a savory ketchup.
I has the thickness of regular ketchup, but not the taste. I like Stevia, a natural sweetener, was used in place of sugar, but too much makes the product way too sweet. I taste some acidity (vinegar), the sweetness is excessive, and there isn't much tomato flavor. This needs less Stevia, so the tomato flavor comes through. I had high hopes for this product since it was cheaper, and likely more available, than the G Hughes ketchup I've used before. Instead this got tossed in the trash, and I'll go back to G Hughes which tastes better but is more runny. I don't use much ketchup. In fact, after about a year, I toss the remainder which is most of the bottle, because I use so little. Would prefer a smaller bottle size. Although the cost per ounce would be worse, once I toss over half the bottle in a year then the price comparison gets highly skewed: what looked cheaper with more volume ends up more expensive when tossing most of the product after getting too old from little use. A smaller bottle would be more cost effective to me. With half the sweetness (less Stevia) and much more robust tomato flavor, I'd switch to this product. Instead I'm going back to G Hughes.
I'm not adverse to products with artificial sugars or their flavors. However, this no sugar ketchup has an awful taste. It's expensive so what I do is mix 1/4 part this product to 1 part of a ketchup with sugar. Even then, the no sugar ketchup still taints the taste a little bit. No, I will not buy again and do not recommend.
