Excellent experience as first time henna user. It covered the greys and Ill keep using it to build up layers of color. I let it sit overnight then added lemon juice. Really easy to wash out. I covered my hair with plastic wrap, tin foil, winter hat for almost 3 hours for stubborn greys. My experience with PPD et al has almost put me in the hospital. I have Asthma and Allergies and I finally found something mild that works. Also in my experience with at least 25 different hair dyes, if there is not PPD, there are hundreds of names for similar ingredients. Good luck! I love this product. It works so well and enjoy the fact that it is all natural. It brings a shine and highlights to my hair. I mix it with coffee and apple cider vinegar per the instructions. My hair seems fuller and more natural. One jar yields two coloring times.

I bought this as a backup for my usual product and had to use it recently, it mixes well and applies ok, not too good in covering grey bit not bad either - really conditioned my hair - worth having a pot - i have long hair and it will give me 2-3 applications

This is the best henna product I've ever used. I have been coloring my hair with it for many years. It is to apply and easy to wash off. The result is a very good looking hair, healthy hair.

Anyone whom has had disappointing results please read this info. Despite the Rainbow research claim that this doesn't work on beards, I am able to get great results using available scientific information. After much research I have discovered that optimal release of Lawson from henna has very narrow biological conditions: pH 5 or less, 68-72 degrees F, between 8-12 hours after mixing. Less than 8 hrs or above pH 5 produces poor color rendering and short lasting results. Process can be accelerated with elevated temperatures but again with less than optimal results. Here's how: On a Friday morning before work I will mix a 50/50 ratio of henna/BOTTLED water in a bowl (tap water is typically 7-9 pH). I also add 1 tap of vinegar to further lower the pH. Cover bowel with plastic and head to work. When I return home 10 hrs later the mixture is at it's peak and ready to apply. In doing so I am able to achieve results only 2 hrs after applied. My aim is medium brown so I use DARK and it seems to hit the target. The research also discussed NOT adding coffee/tea as they do not maintain the appropriate pH and provide little if any enhancement. In the case of someone looking for dark results, it has been indicated that indigo tends to be strongest the first 3 hours of mixing. The solution to this seems to be adding extra indigo to the mix just before the henna is applied. I suspect this is the logic behind the "two step" process recommended by other producers of the product. With that said, I believe my results will attest to this scientific study as facial hair tends to be much more resistant to henna than scalp hair. Either way I feel blessed not to have a gray beard or deal with the miserable rash I was getting from PPD poison in chemical dyes. Give this method a try, you'll be surprised!

This product did not work for me. It did not color my grays at all. It turned a strange yellowish/brown tint. .

I followed the instructions and didn't work , grey hair is still grey :(

The product is labeled "Conditioner" but it is powder. When you use it, you to follow many steps and takes at least 1 hour. It is too much work. I didn't use it.
