Appreciate the item arrived with tape to prevent leaks, though it does have a "safety seal" under the cap also. It's viscous like syrup, not like a sprayable liquid, and does not smell (to me). Check your leather items if they are compatible with this before buying (not for black motorcycle jackets). I used it on my veg-tanned real-leather belt. The size / cost-per oz. was right for me and I resisted the urge to super-size to a 32oz container. Item was as described in the listing.

Nice Size for the Money

klabrec July 28, 2025

It's neatsfoot oil and I've used it on leather sandals to condition them. It works how it's supposed to and I find it a good price for needing a smaller amount.

Another great Survivors Product!

Grace September 16, 2024

I'm new to this product and so far I'm really liking it. I shine a lot of leather shoes and what I like about this item is its consistentcy—I like that it's more of a liquid and it spreads easy. It seems to really moisturize the leather. Survivors mink oil is still my %231 favorite for the cost per use value—but this is great too.

Best thing going for leather!

CharlestheImpaler September 2, 2024

This stuff is awesome for restoring leather and keeping it supple. I work outside and my leather belt was getting pretty stiff and dry from sweating on it and the regular exposure to sun light. I have been wiping my belt down with it for several days in a row and it is coming back very nicely. I have seen old dry cracked leather brought back to new condition using Neatsfoot oil and some patience.

a little messy but does the job

OldMom81 September 15, 2024

It's a little runnier than I expected, but it gets the job done. purchased to help make leather boots more pliable for stretching, seems to help a little bit.

Not recommended.

Marcos January 7, 2026

I used another brand before. Compared to the previous one, this product requires many layers before I started to see even a small improvement on the leather. Overall, it does not meet my expectations.

Is it really neatsfoot oil?

Robert January 6, 2025

At first use I noticed this product does not have the characteristic odor of neatsfoot oil. After several uses I happened to examine the label on my bottle. It shows "hydrogenated mineral oil" as the only ingredient.. No mention of actual neatsfoot oil. Strangely, the bottle label shown on the Walmart website has no mention of ingredients. According to Wikipedia neatsfoot oil is sometimes combined with mineral oil, in which case it labelled "neatsfoot oil compound". This product presents itself as pure neatsfoot oil but, as far as I can tell, it contains none.
