they were exactly what I expected
It fitted my project, thank you!!!!!!!
I bought several packs of these fender washers in different sizes. The price was great, and the quality was excellent. They worked perfectly for my project. No issues. 5 stars
Needed these for a sewing project and they work just as needed.
These washers are perfect for using on screws too secure wall mounts for tv.
Just what I needed! In the photos it appears to be two sizes. The washers that are 3/4" across with 1/8" hole are the ones.
I am very familiar with this type of hardware.. When I build prototype electronic projects, they are very useful.. Truly, one half of the job is housing the electronic components in a suitable carrying case or cabinet. Many of these washers are needed to center some controls in oversized holes, and to provide a secure backing surface for the mounting nuts. These are exactly like the ones I stock and have good plating and correct dimensions. This small quantity is good for the average user to keep on hand.
I really like fender washers. These are from the manufacturer Hillman which normally puts out good products. This particular package contains 11 fender washers, which is a nice quantity for the price. These measure 1/8”x ¾” so they will fit a wide variety of screws. They are made from zinc. They will work with pan heads screws and even deck screws and drywall screws. While it's true pan head screws will always give you more surface area to fasten too, you can still use those other screws if that's all you have on hand. I've used just about any type of screw head and I've never had any issues whatsoever. I have over 30 years of experience, and I would recommend these to anyone that needs to do repairs.
These Hillman fender washers are made of zinc according to the package. There are 11 of them and they measure three-quarter inch wide. I'm not sure if the 1/8” size is supposed to be the middle hole, which actually measures about 5/64.” According to the Internet, “Fender washers are used most often for fastening sheet metal, because they effectively distribute force during the tightening process and extend the bearing surface for whatever load the fastener is holding up. This is helpful for fastening to thin or soft materials.” If you have ever wondered why they are called fender washers, it's apparently because they were used to attach fenders to vehicles, presumably early in vehicle manufacturing. I like to use them for creating space between two surfaces or securing items that have larger holes or gaps with smaller screws. I suppose you could also use them for arts and crafts. For some reason there is a warning on the back of the package that says “cancer and reproductive harm“ and gives a link to a P65 warnings California website. Not sure if that is for the package which is plastic or the washers themselves. I have used Hillman products extensively in the past and they have always held up well over time. I'm not super thrilled about the fact that the product is made in a place that doesn't value its citizens' rights or freedoms, and uses more carbon to ship than it would if it were manufactured here. Where the product is made is integral to the product and so is part of the review.
Just too expensive.
