I couldn't wait to receive this package as I am not familiar with the pink salt lamps at all. Well I can tell you that it does add this calming peaceful effect to a room. I like that you can adjust the brightness. It's a conversation piece and I plan on buying more for other rooms in my home. Highly recommended.
It is NOT a pink salt lamp. It is more white than pink. I have had several of them and they were all pink and has a nice shape to them. This one is not pink and not pleasing to look at. I have it sitting on the floor next to my recliner and I couldn't believe that the base wasn't attached to it. It sits on a wooden base with a light in it. What happens when the light burns out? You're out of luck. I am really not happy with the light, but I can't get out to send it back so I am stuck with it.
The lamp is smaller than I expected and, although it has a dimmer switch, it was no evident al all how it was supposed to be used. I had a few back and forth emails with the supplier and they finally explained how the dimmer switch works. I would never have figured it out. I suggested that the "instructions" include information on how the dimmer works since it was not at all obvious, at least not to me.
I love the lamps however, each arrived damaged. The package was dry but, each lamp had water damage. One lamp has rust on the USB end of the cord and the other had water damage on the wood base which was covered in mold. I cannot remove the rust and I am trying to clean off the mold ingrained in the wood but, I will potentially have to sand it. I don't want mold in my house. Photos of the wood base are after cleaning with two types of mold killer (one type used in hospitals and one is vinegar) but, I cannot get it out of the wood grain. The rust on the USB cord end is permanant.
This is not the Himalayan pink salt lamp I expected. I had one purchased maybe 15 years ago that was your standard plug into the wall light and with a dimmer switch. The piece of Himalayan salt was actually pink/amber in color and when it was lighted turned on that is it gave off the most wonderful warm ambience creating amber light. I kept it on low nearly at all times especially beginning in the evening. It changed the atmosphere of the room to something so cozy and pleasing. However. Pink salt from Walmart it's not that this is the fifth in a series of Himalayan salt lamps. I have purchased in the last month of 2025 looking to replace my beautiful original Himalayan pig salt lamp because it got knocked over accidentally and is irreparably broken. And unusable badly. The new salt lamps on the market are not pink salt number one they're mainly white or very very lightly tense of pink or amber. They are LED lights. They require a USB to function. They are not dimmable. There is no dimmer switch not even if the product description tells you there is a dimmer switch… There is not. In addition, this particular lamp is not attached to the wooden platform that the USB cable is wired to. There is also no lightbulb inside or inserting into the salt lamp. Instead, it is the salt, the piece of salt hollowed out and then separately entire entirely of wooden disc platform with a light in the center of it across the flat top so the light comes out the top of that disc through this centerpiece and then the USB cable is attached to that. In other words picture this, you could lay the platform down without the piece of salt plug it into the USB plug turn it on and there would be a white light beaming up from this flat disc that is meant to be the base of the salt lamp. So you put the salt lamp on top of that. It is not dimmable. It is one on off situation only. Bright or nothing. And it's not a pink amber light. It's also far too bright to give any kind of ambience but then again of course not bright enough to be some kind of reading lamp or anything like that. I took a piece of red tissue paper and cut it. The size of the disk light put it over that in between the platform base and the salt lamp to try to give myself some amber ambience. If I could figure out how to return this thing I would.
I've purchased 3 other salt lamps over the years from Walmart in store and they were just like the picture. the one i received is smaller and white :( very disappointed because shipping also took way longer than expected.
Well, I'M replacing these 2 salt lamps. I did not read that they are touch lamps. I was looking for the switch that controls the dimness of it. I am touching 1 and it does not work even when I forever touch it. The other is not a simple touch and I have no way to dim the light. I went to Walmart to get a refund and was told I needed a label, then take it to a UPS store to have mailed off. I am not happy with them but I am keeping them for decoration.
The metal part on the cord it came with was rusted. The LED light doesn't have the normal calming salt lamp glow it was really bright. Plus, when I plugged it in it kept shutting off by itself and would only stay on for a few seconds. I returned it to the store and bought one with an actual lightbulb instead of the LED light.
The item's base was completely covered in black mold. I was too disgusted to try anything else with it. It is so disappointing. Looking at every other picture it was absolutely not supposed to look like this.
The lamps light wouldn't turn on and when I reached out it was going to cost me more to return it than to just buy a new one. I did reach out to see if I could just exchange the light cord part but did not receive any response.
