Short Version: An excellent value with a great display for watching TV and playing games on PS5.
Longer Version: After my 7 year old Sony's (X69OE) panel gave out on Sunday, I started doing research into a TV that would provide me: A> The panel Size I wanted (65"), B> Mini LED Technology and C> Google TV.
My first choice that met the above criteria was the Sony Mini LED 65", but that was above my current budget at $1,500. I considered the equivalent Samsung, but that also was outside my budget.
I then started to read the review sites that I trust: NY Times Wire Cutter, PC Magazine, Tom's Guide etc.. This Hisense kept coming up. I pulled the trigger and Wal Mart delivered it to my home the next day(I have membership and delivery was 'free').
Set-up was the same as any Google Device and I was able to see the TV from the Google Home app on my iPhone - (In addition to being able to use my iPhone as a remote). The TV's build quality appears to be very good, along with the remote (but of course, time will tell).
One small annoyance was that when I said "Hey Google" to my Google Home device in my kitchen, the TV would hear and answer. When I used the hard-switch on the front of the TV to disable the TV microphone, 3 LED's would remain permanently lit (if you search for a solution to this issue, some folks suggest you need to put black electrical tape over the LED's) however, if you go into the Settings and revoke microphone rights to the Google App, this solves the issue (and you can leave the hard-microphone switch set to 'ON').
The Picture quality is excellent (as one would expect from a 2024 model TV), but I can't comment on the TV's speakers as I run it through a sound-bar (Roku).
When playing games on the PS5, I've switched between 1080P at 120 and 2160P at 60 - and frankly I stick with the 4K setting as I love the detail.
