very impressed with this umbrella stand...we decided to fill with water and seems to be doing the trick, so far.... it is on a deck that gets lots or breezes and wind... would recommend.

Works perfectly. Looks really nice. Holds the umbrella securely. Took off one star because the hole used to put sand into it is very small making it difficulty and time consuming to put the sand in. If you are using water, no worries. Would purchase again!

i like the half moon shape and the convenient handle area. after filling it, I was not impressed in the sturdiness for a freestanding umbrella. It may sit well under a table but against a wall, I was not impressed

It is missing the Part E---the screw from underneath that attaches the metal plate to base with the hex wrench. Apparently it is less hassle to return it than to try to get the missing screw piece.

Title of product implies it's a 40lb base and it's certainly priced that way. I felt extremely ripped off when the box arrived and I discovered it's one of the bases you have to fill with sand or water. That type of base is typically priced $20 less than this one was. Very deceptive to call it a 40lb base which is a total lie.

Make sure you have received all the parts before you throw away the box. I threw the box away before I realized the screw was missing. I contacted the number listed on the direction sheet which was no help at all. That couldn't even tell me the size of the screw so I could possibly find it at a home improvement store. I am stuck with a stand I can't use.
