Turn the Homedics Bubble Therapy Foot Spa with Heat Provide Thorough Massaging Relief to Tired Feet on with warm water and you have an immediate foot spa! I don't own a car… I walk everywhere in my small town. How refreshing it is to give myself this fabulous treat for my feet!
Reviewing: Homedics Bubble Therapy Foot Spa with Heat Provide Thorough Massaging Relief to Tired, Achy, Uncomfortable Feet. - Blue This is my first ever foot spa and I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of set-up, functionality, and good design of the product. I was glad to read in the manual the importance placed on consumer safety. It cautioned that the unit needs to be plugged into an outlet that provided proper grounding. Since I wanted the unit's cord to be able to reach the outlet without being a tripping hazard or too short to cause a possibility of it being tipped over, I used a heavy duty cord with a three-pronged plug and inserted that into a grounded outlet. I then finished reading the manual and it was pretty easy to follow: fill only to the max fill line and avoid getting water on the on/off switch. I filled it with warm water to get it heated up sooner and this worked perfectly. The spa maintained a nice comfortable temperature as I soaked my feet in the bubbling water. There are nubs and rollers on the bottom of the unit which allows the user to rub their feet over these protrusions in order to administer a self massage, which I found helpful in easing tension in the feet. I also used a brush that has a pumice stone on one side that is contoured to the feet nicely. I found the whole experience to be very relaxing. When I was finished, I used the built-in handle to carry the spa to the bathroom and emptied it into the tub. This is a really nice and affordable way to treat yourself to nice foot self-care!
You ladies out there if you have tired feet or sore feet this is the foot spa for you. I use it all the time. You cant help but melt away. I like the idea you can put water in it and it heats up and you put your feet in and the machine does the rest. It heats up the water and all so gives you a great massage. This machine gives you a great massage like your getting your feet done at a foot place except it doesn't trim or paint your nails i wish it did. You will love this.
I was so excited when I got this. I put in some warm water, sprinkled in a packet of Johnson's Foot Soap, pressed the button, and nice bubbles formed. I grabbed the instruction booklet, and just as I was about to dip my feet in, I read the part where it says to put the plug (it's three-pronged, with the grounder) into a wall socket. Well... I can't because the cord is a bit short. I think it's a five or six foot cord, but in my living room, the outlets are further away. So I plugged it into an extension cord, but the booklet says I am risking an electric shock by not putting the plug directly into a wall socket. The booklet doesn't explicitly say not to use an extension cord, but it does say to plug it only into a wall socket or else you risk electric shock. Well, there goes that. I unplugged it and soaked me feet anyway. It's lovely even without the electric heat and massage. I kept rolling my feet over the knobby foot spindles, and the included brush/pumice stone combination was perfect. My feet came out clean, soft, and I was very impressed. I was just sorry that I couldn't plug it into a wall socket and get the full spa experience. I still recommend this product though.
Nothing feels better than a relaxing footbath, especially for tired achy feet. This Homedics heat boost bubble pro footbath feels so good when I use it and I instantly relax when I put my feet in the warm bubbling water. I like how it has raised nodes to allow me to slide my feet back and forth over those raised nodes to massage my feet. It does bubble quite a bit and I do think that adds to the soothing footbath experience. The first time I used it, I put in cold tap water and the Homedics heat supply took the water from cold to warm but it didn't get to a very warm or hot temperature. I would think that is done on purpose for safety reasons, so with my next footbath, I put very warm to hot water in my footbath and I appreciated how the heat boost helped the water stay at my desired temperature. I really appreciate the carrying handle as that truly assists in moving it from one room to another. I really like the bonus pumice stone and brush too! For future models, it would be nice to be able to adjust the temperature of the water, so you could make the water warmer if you wanted it warmer.
Let me start off by saying I really like this foot spa by HoMedics! I have a heel spur that flares up every once in a while. So, the use of this foot spa helps alleviate some of the pain and achiness associated with having the heel spur. I have to be careful though, because the foot spa comes with built-in rollers that don't feel the best against my heel spur. The rollers did feel really good when I used them to massage the arches of my feet though. This product has a pretty simple set-up. I just filled it with hot tap water, plugged it in and turned it on. It only has one setting and that's bubbles, heat and vibration all-in-one. The bubble therapy is a nice feature and felt really good on my tired feet. The vibration was gentle, relaxing and not too loud. The heat feature seemed to keep the water warm for the most part. But, part of that may have been because I started off with such hot water to begin with. The foot spa also included a bonus gift: a pumice stone with a brush on the opposite side. The pumice stone did a great job exfoliating the dead skin from my feet. The splash guard protected my floor from getting wet and the carry handle made transporting the foot spa easier.
This foot spa is a nice way to relax at home without needing to go to the spa. The water bubbles a little. It has these rollers that you can rub the bottoms and sides of your feet on for a massage. It has a bit of a cover so the water doesn't slosh around when you carry your foot spa to the spot you want to use it.
The best part is that the water really does stay hot! Due to the poor "massaging" rollers, I only gave it 3 stars. The rear roller needs to be a little bit bigger for those rollers to work. The little bumps, however, do feel very nice. It's also good that it came with a pumice stone, even though it is a bit small and it's hard to use it in some places as it's surrounded by plastic. Still, it is useful. It seemed odd to me that the directions said not to use salts in it. I've had others in the past and generally did use Epsom salts in the water with no problems. The bubbles are just that, bubbles. They're not like spa jets nor are they under your feet. It's just for ambiance, I guess. It's still worth having for the heat function alone. That part works great! If you want a foot soaking tub that keeps the water warm, this is the thing for you.
I only gave you a one star because I couldn't move on without. This machine don't deserve any stars. The machine leaked water and never got hot. When I followed Walmart's policy to return the defective product they refused saying that the product was on sale now and they couldn't take it back because all they could get me was the sale price which was $9.99. I paid $39.95 it's on the receipt. This is your broken product and I want my money back as promised. I'm not satisfied. I don't drive so I had to take the box on the bus, the box couldn't stay closed. It was difficult taking it there then have to take it back.
I'll be short. The water isn't hot it's barely warm no matter the temp of the water poured into it. The bubbles are for aesthetics as far as I can tell. The rollers at the base of the unit force my feet forward smushing my toes. The best part of this unit is the pumice stone/brush combo that comes inside the box. “Best” is relative considering the abysmal mess this unit is. I feel bad for people who paid full price :'(
