This slushy maker actually works! I've tried with juice, soda and iced coffee and it worked with all of them. It's a fun and surprisingly easy way to make a slushy. You need to be careful with the cup material that feels like silicone so you don't damage the sides. My only complaint is that I wish there was a larger size. :)
It's simple to use, easy to clean, and fun to use. You just pour in your favorite beverage and squeeze the cup repeatedly until the desired texture. It will even keep your icy/slushy frozen like. You can even use ice cream! It also comes with an open dome like lid and a scoop that will attach to the straw. The design on this cup is really cool and the functionality of it is awesome. My son (11yro) loves to make different "creations" to enjoy. He says it's magic.
My daughter saw this so I decided to give it a try. It was an amazing purchase! She uses it almost everyday and adds things like Gatorade and caprisun. It's saved us from her wanting to go to get slushies at the gas station. She adores it and for the price it's really good. All you need to do is freeze it overnight then pour the liquid you want in then squeeze for a little and you're done. I would buy it again
This thing actually works! Follow the instructions...freeze the cup at least overnight to make sure it's completely frozen, combine whatever ingredients you want for a slushy (and, yes, you can make a boozey slushy also), pour it into the cup--not too full because you need room for the next step which is squeezing the cup all the way around alternating from side to side, in about 5 minutes you'll have a single slushy. I don't recommend putting anything dairy in it because it just becomes a frozen mess (I tried chocolate milk for a milkshake but it didn't work like I thought it would). I only gave it 4 stars because of how little it makes, but it would be great for someone that just wanted a small amount or for a kid.
I was expecting the beverage to start freezing immediately as indicated in the instructions. I realized you have to let your beverage sit in the frozen cup for a few mins and then start squeezing, let it sit for a few mins and start squeezing it again, etc. Not what I expected so I would not recommend this item.
Keep this tumbler in the freezer so your kids will enjoy making a refreshing, frozen and slushy drink. Add juice, soda, even chocolate milk then squeeze the sides together to create something special for summer's hottest days. Adults can also use this cup to make smoothies or frozen margaritas. The only downside is keeping all the parts in the correct order when washing and reassembling them for the next tasty drink. Thank goodness for the written instructions and illustrations to make this easier. Waiting for a larger version to have homemade slurpies.
Much to my surprise, and delight, this actually works. It appears to be well made and a quality product , but mine leaked. I am returning it for a replacement ( there is a guarantee). The amount of liquid is just 10 ounces and once frosty, the yield appears less , but it's fine for me because I'm just happy it works. I mix orange juice and water as for a slushie, or regular tea (after its cold in the fridge). I got this for me, grown up I'm sure kids will love it as much as I do. This is a great buy especially considering a slushie down the street is now $2.99 and is basically just sugar and water. Nice treat
It's not as good as it sounds. I've used it several times now, and have left if in the freezer about twelve hours before using each time. While I got icee-like slush af the top of my soda, the lower majority (70%) of soda remained liquid: albeit *cold* liquid.
Unfortunately, I bought this for my niece thinking it would work pretty awesome the directions were you freeze it for at least four hours we froze ours for at least six and then you put your favorite drink in it and you crush for a minute while I crushed for 10 minutes or more nothing happened so I would definitely not recommend this slushy maker to anyone
My understanding was that after it was in the freezer for more than six hours, it was ready to use. When I put my drink in it and squeezed like instructed, it didn't do anything. I was skeptical and was proven right. The straw wasn't even long enough to use as with a normal drink. Money wasted.
