I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. Convenient and not easy to replace the existing thermostat and replace it with this one. Operations are simple and can be understood by 2nd grader as well. Wiring also very easy to mark so we shouldn't get confused, thanks to the labels provided. Product made of tough material, so in case if I drop no harm done yet immediately.
YouTube helped me to Troubleshoot Home AC Split Unit on a Single Family Home. Walmart had the Budget Friendly identical Honeywell Thermostat. Replacing was easy, secured all connections. Completed the successful installation by the Grace of God. Yet, had a New Challenge. YouTube advised replace Outside Condensation Capacitor. Walmart choices were too expensive. Ebay, I got three for the same price Walmart. Easy follow up to replace the Capacitor. AC was running back normal. YES! POWER WAS SHUT OFF AS SAFETY. Also did TLC by Cleaning the Unit. Thank God, as a DIY Project saved me $600 Pray with Patience for such Challenging Times. Less than $50 accomplished to get the fear off as a Senior Citizen 65 years old. To God be the Glory. Amen and Shalom
Very easy to set-up. It took approx 5 mins to install. The directions are easy to read and follow. It is a good product for a good price. I bought 3 to replace all the old thermostats in my house.
i love that it was ultra easy to i stall litterally playing natch colors to each spot so easy my 12 year old could do it.
I easily installed this thermostat at my cottage, in the living/dining area, which is warmed by 3 electric baseboard heaters. I found they were all linked, in the basement, to a voltage reducer which turned 240 volts into 24 volts. From this device, 2 thin wires (red and white) connected to the old manual thermostat. It was a simple matter to remove this thermostat and then connect the low voltage wires to the new Honeywell RTH221 terminals, marked R and W. Programming the new thermostat was also very simple since I only had to enter the time and temperature for wakeup and sleep and those settings were extended to every day of the week. I love getting up in the morning to an already-warmed up house, and not having to remember in the evening to turn down the thermostat before bed time. This inexpensive thermostat delivers everything Honeywell promises and is the perfect choice for anyone who doesn't care about different temperature settings for weekdays vs. weekends.
The unit is easy to program and extremely easy to install. If it had a backlight it would be perfect but for the price I can't complain.
seems like pretty good product haven't installed it yet but Walmart sucks I will never order from them again
It was not as advertised. It said it was a back lit thermostat. After attempting to install it, I find out it is not. The one that is back lit is an entirely different model. Please make sure when you advertise that it says CERTAIN MODELS ONLY. The picture on the ordering screen was lit up, and I tripple checked the wording to make sure this was what I was getting. But it wasn't! So now I have to return it and once again I'm without a thermostat.
I'm utterly frustrated and exasperated trying to get simple functions.Beware - this model has the most bizarre setup,pre-programmed,and it's very difficult and counter-intuitive to try to get it to function on manual - or my own setting. After trying to change the clock time for Daylight Savings, I'm sorry I ever touched the SET button. The directions are twisted and don't work. The internal settings are for the birds, literally. It resets to default schedules that are maddening and wake me when my furnace kicks on at unexpected times, 4 times a day. I bought this model because I needed a single simple program. Whoever designed this seems out of touch with the needs of a common home such as mine. This is so bad, I suggest getting a different model with better reviews.
Beware this 1st one was in pieces l didn't know l thought oh my this thing needs to be put together 😳 so when my electrician went to put it in and he said it shouldn't be broken like this like I say I didn't know so then I had to order a new one that one came in one piece. I just feel like Walmart needs to check their stuff before they ship it out.!!!
