Soft in freshness, slightly sweet, hit the spot

Artemis January 7, 2026

I rarely buy these type of products bec they are obviously junk food as we all are aware. But I wanted a quick treat and getting it out of my system then back to my standard healthier organic food choices for maintaining my better quality of life via healthier choices and sound nutrition. But in honestly regardless how I feel about the fact it isn't a good source of nutrition it did taste good fur the moment and is very fresh softness wise and tasted good to me. I know by time I'm done over the week only allowing myself a treat a day it'll be out of my system and I'll be over it. The packing was as expected and individually wrapped so they each stay fresh softness wise as you eat them each time. The consistency is soft, tasteful and slight sweetness to cream and strawberry even though it's all artificial. I am sure they'd be a nice lunch snack if you choose them rarely and its strawberry cream taste with coconut was right up my alley for things I enjoy. I would recommend them on rare occasions. Eating this regularly with HFCS is not what I'd recommend regularly. Only have occasionally. Just my own opinion obviously.

The item has been a favorite for many years. Hostess is the very best when it comes to their consistency in quality, flavor, and satisfaction. ***The product itself is a definite 5 Star. However, regarding order delivery from Walmart, better care and attention should be taken in the packaging of any fragile items (fresh food, some especially if one or more items will be delivered separately by another driver. when an order is split into more than one. items are delivered separately to avoid package damage and the breaking and/or crushing of the contents.

Hoping no one noticed they're shrinking cakes

Tad February 24, 2026

Until very recently these were my favorite snack cake. I bought 2 boxes of these and the 1st box was perfect, everything was as it always was. Then I opened the 2nd box. Every Zinger was 3/4 its usual size but the box and wrappers were still sized to accommodate normal sized Zingers, making it painfully obvious they were in the process of shrinking my favorite treat. It also seems that they're still using the full amount of creme filling which in my opinion is far too much for the smaller cakes.

Rendered beef fat (tallow) No cream filling

MajiqDick January 23, 2026

These are peak 1980s–2000s processed snack cakes: loaded with sugar, cheap fats (including animal tallow for that addictive mouthfeel), artificial colors/flavors, and preservatives so they last forever on the shelf. if animal-derived fats (beef tallow) or synthetic dyes are your line in the sand, these are definitely not “clean” or vegan-friendly.

Poor quality

Tiffaney February 27, 2026

Best by Apr 30 2026 purchased 02/18/2026 lot code 6035832210 11:45 The icing is hard and crunchy, the cake is also dry and the cream filling is very minimal and 4 of the 10 cakes had the icing on the side instead of the top. The entire product tastes bitter more like cocoa than the devils food flavor it is known for. The last 4 times I've bought zingers in the last year the product has a texture that typically comes from baked goods being exposed to air for too long even though the packaging is properly sealed. Just all around disappointed 😔😔😔

Extremely dissatisfied w/ smaller sized product!!

Shellbee March 29, 2026

Did you really think we wouldn't notice?? I'm so mad that I wasted my money on these. Not because we don't love them, but because I just opened a box of Zingers & Twinkies and you shrunk them!! The prices go up, but you miniaturized the cakes!! Disappointing!!! I absolutely refuse to buy them again and I am certain many will feel the same way when they see what a rip off Hostess has become.

Arrived smushed

Titanium April 16, 2024

The packaging was not adequate for these. So if you like pancake zingers this is it. Will not be ordering these from this seller again; thats for sure!

Destroyed in shipping

Kevin February 29, 2024

I ordered zingers from Walmart but they didn't have it locally so it had to be shipped to me. They came in their Hostess box but that was placed in a plastic shipping envelope and sent USPS. It showed up smashed. they're edible but they're a mess.

NOT for us....

anonymous May 28, 2026

No one in our family liked these. I chose these as a substitute to an out of stock cake, and it was a big mistake! The raspberry and coconut do not go together at all and are gross. You can't taste the vanilla cake, which is I suppose should be like a Twinkie. The only good part is the cream. Too gross for us!!!

Expired

shar June 30, 2026

Was delivered a box that was not only crushed but also expired. Did try to eat one before tossing them and it was dry and hard. I remember them from long ago as being delicious. I might try ordering again in the future…maybe
