I've been using my laptop for 5 months now and it's been amazing! I haven't had any trouble and the space is amazing! Very fast processing power and it looks amazing!
Wow! The power this laptop has blew my mind. I don't know why I waited so long to upgrade! It does everything I needed and more. Set up was easy, even for this not so tech savvy senior. The terabyte of storage means all of my photos are safe and easy to access. I love it!
did nor realized the security does not come with the computer,it is a little heavy but works for me since i don't have to carry it a lot.
Nothing wrong with this laptop, and i'm happy with the purchase based on price. There are a couple things I wish were better that made me want to knock a star off: -Battery life seems shorter than any laptop i've had before. Not overwhelming shorter, but it does seem like running programs will drain it in almost an hour or so. -Speakers are mid. Even at max volume watching a streaming service or listening to music leaves something to be desired. Almost want to purchase external speakers as a normal fan on high almost drowns out sound completely. -Keyboard doesn't light up. Is that enough to send it back? Of course not, but in a dimly lit space you're unable to type unless you go by sonar. *This laptop comes with built in S-mode, which means you wont be able to download anything that you can't find in the Windows store directly, ex: The Sims? Can't install it, You can choose to turn S mode off but it was finicky to do and system gives you a bunch of warnings not to do this or risk losing safety features.*
This is a Microsoft installed HP computer. So you can only install Microsoft programs or apps on the computer unless you unlock the S mode feature to get your Google apps and 3rd party apps. If you know how to install things like Memory cards you can upgrade your Memory on the HD up to I think 2TB, which is great. The keyboard doesn't Light up aka Backlit. QWERTY keys with Function keys lined up at the top which includes the On button. The mousepad has left and right click functions included on the lil mouse square pad at the bottom of the laptop. The screen is large and beautiful, displays crystal clear images, inputs and outputs high quality videos, movies and photos captured from the installed cameras and the microphone has sharp clear sound and will capture all background sounds as well. Has loads of connector spots for USB, HDMI. I didn't see a spot for Ethernet connectivity (so you can plug in directly to your router for things like remote sales opportunities). Overall, it's a basic computer.
I took the computer to my computer repair store to set it up and install virus protection. I was told it did not come from the factory like it was as advertised , The PC store that sold it had modified the computer not the HP factory. It was not advertised it was modified or I would not have purchased it. It is working great and I hope it stays that way.
I like the 17" touch screen, had one b4 and missed it on last unit. Just be very aware that the white will wear off the keys - I have only had this for about a month and the keys are already wearing off. My last laptop (also and H/P did the same thing but lasted longer than a month)
After spending over $600. I would have thought that a laptop would have more packing or bubble wrap in the shipping box. Even the deliver driver made a comment about how loose it was in the box.
I computer that I ordered wasn't the one I received and being that I needed it for schoolwork I had decided to keep it until after setting up the computer I could not get it out of S mode. S mode was blocking all the required software that I needed for class and for my assignments that I had to turn in. It was a true headache, everything that I needed was all being blocked by S mode. So I returned it, it wasn't of any use to me at all.
So upset. I haven't had it 24 hours and I'm already having issues. Was on it maybe an hour and the screen started glitching. Shut it off left it alone over night. Got up powered it on it was fine. A few minutes into it the screen froze. Powered it off turned it back on and was able to use it for about an hour/ hour and a half. That's when it randomly restarted saying “your computer has ran into a problem and needs to restart”. It did this about 6-8 more times and now will not come on. I'm so aggravated. I paid a lot of money for it to not even work properly. I have reached out to the seller and I did buy the protection plan. I'm waiting to hear back.
