H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe 2025 for Windows and Mac (Digital Download)

I have used this program many times before as well as TurboTax which I often compare the features to. I found the interface very intuitive and the guidance provided helpful. While both programs are very similar, I have a slight preference for H&R program, probably in part for the pricing.

I've been using H&R Block tax software for the last decade or so. It has taken so much work and angst out of the tax reporting and filing process. I particularly like the audit feature, which has caught a number of small problems in my returns over the years.

I am a long time user of H&R Software. I have always been very satisfied with the product. I especially appreciate all the explanatory information that comes with items that I would otherwise not understand and have to research. I am always very comfortable with the return I send to IRS.

Functional tax preparation software, easy to use. That said it offered me the choice of direct deposit or paper check for my refund. I received a letter from the IRS a couple weeks later, seems the option for a paper check was eliminated it September of 2025 so I had to jump through hoops on the IRS website to setup the direct deposit information.

Generally good. I've used for several years. I liked its ability to download info from brokerage website. I struggled with the Net Investment Income Tax form; in the Q and A interview Block asks about investment interest which is a separate line on the form. No questions exist for investment EXPENSES, if I choose to add them manually to the form- override in Block terminology- it tells me I cannot electronically file. This should not be the case.

I buy this early every year as it works well and seamlessly imports all pertinent information. The dismay I hear from family and friends compounds each year as they continue to question why I spend so much when there are so many less expensive alternatives. They make a great argument

I've used HR for federal and state for years without issues but this year didn't go so smooth. This year I didn't have as many deductions so ended up using the standard deduction which seemed to mess up what was imported from last year when I did itemize. I had to manually go in and remove stuff. Also in the state return I couldn't electronically file because of a limit on charitable contributions that can be counted in State when not filing Federal with itemized deductions

Used for several years with no issue. This year there was an error in the programming related to W2's and 1099-R forms. If more than one was entered, the second or third would replace the first value in the first form entered resulting in a calculation error in the tax. The prevent the error, the forms had to be entered in reverse order; third, second, first to prevent overwriting of the first form. This should have been fixed in an early update but apparently was not. Occurred after all updates were applied.

Have always used HRB as my tax preparation software for both State and Federal. This year HRB could not eFile my state forms even though very little changed between last year and this year. It was a big disappointment. The mailing instructions provided was also incorrect and differed from the state's Department of Revenue website. This year's filing was a big step backwards from last year's filing.

I run Windows 9 PRO and have for many years including 2024 tax season (2025) and it worked great. This year it did not work because I did not have Windows 11 or better. I had to borrow a Windows 11 laptop computer to do my taxes. My Computer works great for very thing else including the internet. I will not be upgrading my computer so next year I will have to fined a new tax program. I am through with H&R Block.
