HTH Spa Care 6-Way Pool and Spa & Pool Test Strips, Chemical Tester, 25 Each

I like this strips for my above-ground pool. It's nice and easy to get a quick view of whether the water is OK. The strip I used today showed low alkalinity, so I got that taken care of. The water looked just fine, so it's definitely good to have the strips to double-check.

I use these test strips daily because I only add liquid chlorine to my pool rather than the chlorine tablets. Liquid chlorine works fast, and if I test it immediately after adding the chlorine, it shows on the test strips. The next day or so, when I test the water before adding chlorine, it reads accurately. I mostly use to ensure it's safe to swim based on the chlorine level in the pool, because the other readings are already chemically balanced in my pool water. However, when I moved into this house with the pool, the water was green and dirty. I used these test strips multiple times daily as I added acid and chlorine to get my pH balanced and normal. These strips seemed to be very effective in telling what I needed to add, and how much to add, with the help of Chat GPT. I would tell Chat GPT what the strips said and it would calculate how much of the chemicals needed for my size pool. Once the pH was right, it showed so on the strips, and still shows that when I test it daily. I did buy the fancier water tester with the colored dropper bottles, but that felt daunting to do as often as I like to test my pool water. So I quickly ordered another pack of test strips and decided I will save the dropper bottle tests for a weekly or bi-weekly standard check up. However, I use these test strips multiple times DAILY. Maybe I am over-doing it, but you can never be too safe when you have a child that loves to swim in the pool, and you are managing the chemistry yourself, despite not being very good with chemistry. We trust these strips and I will keep these on hand at all times in my house! By the way, don't forget to read and follow the instructions. Follow the directions in terms of how deep and how long you leave it in the water before reading the result. When you read the result, it's important to read it in direct sunlight and to leave the strip level for 20 seconds or so after you dip it in the water. These are important factors that change how accurate your reading is. Reduce the chance of an incorrect reading by following the simple instructions on the bottle. Trust me, it is EASY to use and very much so worth the money.

This isn't the way I test my home pool but whenever we rent a home with a pool I like to take them to ensure they are keeping up with the chlorine in the pool/hot tub.

Better than the more expensive name brand. I highly recommend. These work just as great and serve their purpose :)

35 test strips. When using the hth app to read it says to place on a dark background. The app seems to prefer if you fill the frame with the test strip. The app recommends hth products to correct the problems. photo shows hth test strip to left

I compared these strips to a Taylor test kit and found that only the free chlorine was remotely accurate.
