HydroTech FlatJacket 5/8" x 50ft Flexible Garden Hose– Kink-Free, Lightweight, Burst-Proof

I’ve only used it a couple times it I’m impressed with the construction of it. It collapses well. My only critique would be , until it’s fully expanded it kinks/ twists maki it harder for the water to get all the way through to the nozzle. If you have it mostly stretched out it’s not an issue. Overall…. Really good hose. I’ll definitely be buying a 100’ soon.

Great hose! This is the second one we purchased for use on a hose reel, and it's the most convenient longer hose I've had for that purpose without sacrificing much in the way of water throughput. The HydroTech expands enough to get the capacity we need to water on large garden areas, yet it still rolls easily and doesn't kink at all. The only issue (besides the minor lack of color issue and the ease at which this orange looks dingy) is that the connector at the big - which in our case is next to the inner spool of the hose reel - is very long and rigid, making it difficult to fit in small areas (like if your bib is closer than 6" to the ground, for instance) or for things like hose reels where that long connector sticks out. It actually came off once because the threads didn't mesh right when it was first attached, and the torque of long connector on the hose reel caused it to snap off easily. Other than that, we have had no issues in over a year of using our previous one like this, and have no real complaints overall.

Lightweight but tough. Great hose for getting into corners or dragging up onto a deck or ladder due to its flexibility and light weight. I drag it across our gravel driveway to water a small orchard and when under water pressure, it survives vehicle traffic better than any hose I have used. Stores flat on a hose hanger or reel. Kinks come out when you turn on the water.

Great hose Material. I didn't want to return it, but it had one brass end and a plastic end. The plastic end would not hold on to my attachments. The water pressure would blow them off of the plastic threads and water would go everywhere. I tried changing the gaskets twice. Finally it popped loose one time too many in the middle of a job. I returned it immediately after that 10th time.

The first time I tried this hose, it kinked up. I regret getting the 100 foot hose because that’s a lot to drag around and have to double back and get the kinks out. Unfortunately, I passed the return date so now I’m stuck with a hose I’ll never use.

Looks good and material seems reliable. It arrived in good condition but doesn't thread onto outside water spicket, it goes so far and instead of getting tight it strips and pops Off tried multiple different ways including a splitter. Got a replacement and it does the same thing.

Bought May 2, 2025, Failed August 8, 2025. started to see rippling under the jacket a week or so ago, almost the appearance of where 2 sections might have been joined; In any case the outer jacket started to open up today and Im expecting a catastrophic failure in the days to come. I would say that the outer jacket is not as "ABRASION RESISTENT" as one might be lead to believe. I love these type of lightweight hoses, but they just dont have the longevity. Shopping a new hose today.

It clearly states on the box that the hose is KINK RESISTANT I've tried to use it TWO TIMES and both times it took me 10 minutes to take out all the kinks before the water flowed freely. I paid more than I could afford thinking I was getting a quality hose. It was a mistake

Do not buy! I should have read reviews before I purchased, but I was in a hurry and this was cheaper than similar hoses. First, you will spend half an hour untangling it from itself out of the box. Then, you will fumble with the cheap plastic faucet adapter, which won’t seat correctly for whatever reason. Then, you’ll wonder why your kiddie pool is taking 5 hours to fill up, only to discover that the hose wants to keep twisting and bending on itself, so the water pressure is a mere trickle towards the end. Unless you watch to make sure this hose is completely straightened out for the full length, the entire time you are using it, it’s non functional.

At 2 weeks old the end blew off of it. On top of that the plastic coupler had already started to strip and keeping it on the hose bib was getting impossible, The male coupler is brass, not sure why they made the female out of crappy plastic.
