Hyper Tough 26cc 2 Cycle Gas 17" Curved Shaft String Trimmer

I've been using this for prairie restoration work. I use it to cut through thick grass and invasive plants. It works very well. For the money I would give this six stars if I could. I've only used it for a couple of weeks but it really does the job. It will cut right through thistle, younger honeysuckles, and thick grasses. You have to watch the reel. It can happen once in a while that you lose your trim string. That is, it just disappears. Then you have to open the reel and restring it. Watch a Youtube video on how to do that. I bought two. My friend and I use it with great success.

I didn't buy this for use as a string trimmer. I needed to replace my old attachment capable power head. This is perfect for that and has all the power and ease of use I wanted. And it costs half what it would have cost to repair my old power head.

Very easy assembly, took about two minutes, added fuel, and it started right up, the head had plenty of lying in it, for the price and the power. It is a very good deal, because my previous Weedwhacker failed this one needed to do more work And it cut through the weeds like butter

good price for a gas trimmer, no reason they should cost more than $100. it offers good power for the price point. my name brand electric one died and didn't have near the power of this Hyper Tough one. easy assembly had it ready to go under 10 minutes. comes with a small bottle of oil and some string refill.

Starts and runs grrrrr8 (-; for light duty user. No complaints and I'll try to get as many years out of it as possible. Use some stabilizer and run the fuel out after each season. Just a light duty, fits the bill, inexpensive weed wacker! Don't need to spend Stihl money for how I use it.

I went to take it back and could not take it back because of them saying they didn't no i went to take it back and could not take it back because of them saying they do not take gas smelling items so I never was able to return it and get my money back

I ordered this online and picked up at store. Person that brought it out to car did not give me receipt. After getting it home 100 miles away I opened box which had been opened before and was abundantly tapped closed with 2" clear tape. After opening it i found couple detects. Trigger lock had been smashed and was not functioning, clamp screw to put two halves of shaft together was bent and not usable. I removed trigger lock, straightened clamp screw and proceeded to use. Lower half of unit does not stay attached and flops around and falls out. Walmart gave me a damaged unit which I suspect was previously returned as defective. Im just awaiting next trip to return.

It took a while to get it to start the first time... I got the yard trimmed but it was not as powerful as past models. I tried starting it again 2 weeks later and it would not start. I am going to have to file the warranty claim within the first month of owning it.

I had this less than a year and the head fell off. They sent me the wrong part and then said after review they need to send the whole shaft and head and guard - but for a straight shaft and not the curved one I had. I said I wanted a refund and they said to check with Walmart who said they can't refund. A waste of money!

after I assemble the item and started it up which it started on the second Pole the first time I tried to use it within 30 seconds or less the trimmer head went flying off of it and this was not a part that I had to install it was pre-installed. so I had to go find the thing and install it. the starting process is ridiculous it's like an old motorcycle with a petcock. turn this prime this flip this lever and then pull it however many times to start it. the string seem to advance okay but it just didn't seem to have the cutting power as the old model did. I had the older model exactly the same thing but the drive shaft in the lower head had broken so I needed a new weed eater and I should have bought another one of the old model which was still available.
