Hyper Tough 4 lb Black Twisted Steel Wedge for Wood

This is my favorite wedge. I had used it to split oak wood- dry and wet. It is the best one I own and I'm super disappointed I'm unable to buy another. I hope they are restocked.

Works very well in soft wood like pine (might need to sharpen the tip for harder woods). The twisted design does a better job with splitting than the traditional wedge shape usually found. Tool holds up much better than the "diamond" shaped splitters as the tips on those break no matter how careful you are with them.

for the price this wedge is useful... i use it as a chase in case my primary wedge gets buried. however, i have split wood with this hyper tough wedge and an 8lb sledge to crack rounds that are then split with an axe. for the $, you cant beat this tool.

I gave this to my yard guy he says it works fine he has no problem with it he's enjoying taking up stunts out of the yard

Price,,and recommendation of friend that had purchased one from Walmart

Item will split wood but the tip is not sharp. You may have to make a small cut into the wood your axe then place the wedge after. Overall it’s good but not great. Cheapest one I could find that are twisted designs. It sold out quickly so if you need a wedge, add this to your tools.

This works ok if you have a sledgehammer with which to drive it in. It is not sharpened, this would also help.
