High quality tool
The splitting wedge comes from a manufacturer with an excellent retupation. This is my first splitting wedge so I don't have a basis of comparison to other similar products. But I can tell you that it is made of extremely durable steel. It functions exactly as described and it appears that it will last a very long time with a minimum of maintenance required.

I think the weight is what i want, it's very hard, high strength, not deformed when i use a heavy axe hit it hardly.

Heat with wood
Neighbor borrowed my wedges and they never came back before he moved so now I'm buying new. Hope this is better, different design.

Great tool for hard splitting woods
This wood splitting wedge is great for small or big logs. I use it on wet or dry wood. Like other reviewers said, it's a great buy and a great tool for wood splitting.

Nice, heavy duty wedge. But I didn't have much luck with it busting "green" wood. The wedge would fly out after about 3 or 4 hits with a sledge hammer. Works ok on "dried" wood. And to be fair, I was busting some very hard wood, and some very large pieces of wood. That type of wood is normally going to be hard to bust so I can't really blame it on the wedge. I think this wedge is a good value for the money.
