Wow - what a wonderful tool at a great price. I do a lot of military modeling and DIY home projects and this thing works great. Plenty of specialty attachments included with it as well and the speed adjustment allows me to dial them into the application I need. I should have bought one years ago.
I had a "D" name brand tool for quite a few years. It got infrequently, light use for most of the time and when I put it to some heavier use, the motor went up in smoke. I replaced it with this unit, and have had it for over 2 years. It is more powerful than its name brand predecessor, and it likely has seen more and heavier use in 2 years than my old one did in 10. Performs flawlessly.
Not sure what these other reviews are talking about this thing has mad power and unbelievable speed not to mention it comes with every attatchment your gonna need and a spare set of carbon brushes witch is great because at 35,000 rpm you will eventually need new brushes i use mine for mechanic work things like clearing rust from brake parts and removeibg sharp edges also perfect for prep work before bondo i love mine has way more power than my dremel i mean way more its not even close this thing on high scares me lol
People have had two issues with this tool. which I solved. --Collet not holding tool bits. There was a burr in my collet that stopped the bits from going in more than 1/4 inch---File the burr out, or just tap the bit in and it will break the burr. When fully inserted and wrench tightened the collet is as good as any. --Not enough torque (power). Yes, it is a moderately powered tool, with tiny bits. 1/8th inch shank cutters should let you know none of these small tools are for large metal removal projects, but it does what it was designed for well. The minimum 8,000 rpm is way too fast for large cutters, buy a 1/4 inch shank rotary grinder or a 4&1/2 inch disc grinder for big work. You can buy all three for less than the cost of one dremel tool.
I am impressed with all the available uses. However, the instructions need to be more detailed about how to use it. As a matter of fact, the best way to learn how to operate is the starter quick guide. It includes a kit of accessories but compatible with other add-on accessories that are sold separately. The speed dial is a little hard to change. It would be nice if this could be battery powered. It was hard to repack the tool and starter kit of parts back into the case. Accessory kits that are sold separately are known to be easier to get through packaging. My grandson was impressed with this tool and enjoyed polishing a piece of wood. The cleaning
This rotary tool is adequate for the price but it has some cons. There is no explanation of the attachments so it's left to you to guess what they do. Also, the attachments are very hard to change and ends up wasting a lot of time. If I could do it over, I would go for the name brand with quick change.
very good tool I have two now.
Great price especially for everything that it comes with, a little bulky for me but otherwise good product
the hypertough is heavier than the dremel 4000 runs at the same speed i as for as the bits coming loose i swapped the collet with Quick change dremel chuck works great and 1/3 the price i am planning to buy another thank you for building a more afforiable tool i wish had found these before buying the dremel theese stand up as good as the dremel i will be very happy, larry from mississippi
I decided on this product because I wanted a small rotary tool that was corded, not rechargeable. This was the only one available for same-day purchase in stores within 30 miles. The low price compared with Dremel was a bonus. I got it home planning to use it later the next morning. There are more pieces than I really wanted, but that is often the way. They are all held in a small plastic case which fits the tool case but they're all in a compartment that lets them get mixed up with one another. That's a problem when there are dozens of little attachments. My first job was preparing an old window molding for repainting. I tried the sanding attachment, but at anywhere from slowest speed upward, the removable sandpaper drum slides around on the rubber mounting even with the slightest pressure; that caused the rubber mounting to be abraded by the molding surface. It's now unusable. The rubber also left black smears on the molding that I have to remove from the wood. So I tried one of the grinding attachments to do the same thing. I first checked that the correct collet was in the tool. The problem then was that the collet didn't securely hold the attachment, so it didn't rotate when expected and even fell out once. I had it as tight as possible. I remembr usiung a Dremel for the same kind of job years ago but didn't have those kinds of problems. All in all, it's a good idea but not reliable enough. I don't recommend it.
