Hyper Tough Marine Lower Unit Quart Size Fill Pump, 36202WD

I didn't use this on a boat, I used it to pump differential fluid into a hard-to-reach area on a Honda vehicle. It worked as designed. I pumped several quarts with it and it still works so I would think it is probably just fine to use for your boat as well.

Used this on the boat as well as my land vehicle!

Bought this pump to change fluid in 6-speed manual transmission in jeep. Screwed on top of quart bottle and made refilling transmission simple.

I returned this item because I was able to make my old oil pump work. The problem was I could not get the threaded coupling that threads into the lower unit to hold. I ended up wrapping a bunch of Teflon tape around the threads to get the coupling to hold on when screwing it in. After I got it to hold, it worked like a charm!

Pump was easy to assemble and fully functional. Connecting/Disconnecting the metal adapter to the lower drive is a little tricky since it doesn't contain a swivel joint. This is particularly true when disconnecting it after you have finished filling the lower unit. You have to either rotate the entire pump assembly as you unscrew the connection or you have to pull it from the pump tube prior to unscrewing it from the lower unit and that gets kind of messy. Not unreasonable design choice for a low cost pump. you have to either rotate the entire pump around or connect it prior to assembling the pump.

This "marine" model works fine for cars, changing gear oil in diff or transfer case or etc. Same model as sold for cars except this one was cheaper and it has a yellow and metal adapter for marine engines that just gets in the way. Takes A LOT of pumps 300 for one quart but still much less messy than the "squeeze" bottles or trying to pour in tight spaces. Still a bit messy, I will use it again, stored in a plastic grocery bag.

Very very low quality. This item does not need to be a high quality item but as cheap as it is as it breaks apart when screwing on the quart bottle. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

It's a shampoo bottle nozzle with a small zip tie holding onto a vinyl hose. Very cheaply made not worth the investment.
