Ohhhh the days when we could buy these for $15 and smack them together with dollar store rubber mallets..... Well those days dont exist anymore and vaseline rubbed on each pole end and pushed straight down with all your might is the option now. I did have super trouble with just 1 pole and used wire cutters to cut out the top of one of the bumps at insert. Then I could get it in with the vaseline. Its plastic so its only going to be sooo stable. I needed for a specific project and will come back with a pipe cutter and lower the top shelf around 2 1/2" to squeeze in where I want it. But going to let it sit for the moment as it was more of a workout than I expected.
I needed a hammer to get the poles into the holes, but then I am not very strong. This shelf is perfect for my plants in the kitchen, and it is very sturdy.
The shelving unit is sturdy and nicely designed for the money, but the manufacturing quality of the shelves is poor. The shelf edges and slots are not neat and clean, and have a lot of plastic residue hanging over the edges. I spent over an hour trimming the shelf edges and slats.
Shelving would have been more sturdy if it didn`t have so many holes on every shelf. You also couldn't tell if the shelves were snapped in all the way, so you had to use a level to see if they were straight.
The shelf is either neither hyper nor tough or strong. plastic is weak and flimsy The reason why they recommend anchoring it is because the shelves are so weak if you don't anchor it it'll probably fall over without even having anything on it. incredibly disappointing I would never recommend this or purchase one of their products again. this thing is worth about 10 bucks very CHEAP
I never got to put the shelf together - the holes in the shelves were rectangle but the poles were all round. I didn't realize it until after my entire closet was emptied so now I have a big mess and no shelf. Went to the store to get another Hyper Tough shelf. That one the legs wouldn't go in. Also, the instructions refer customers to Koolatron, not Hyper Tough. The box it came in is blank with no branding.
The polls that came with the shelves were round an the wholes to put them in were square. The polls did not fit these shelves. The diameter of the round polls was too big to fit into the square holes. I needed these shelves so bad. But they turned out to be trash. So disappointed. Would not recommend this product to anyone.
The plastic legs did not fit into the sockets on the shelves. Even the instructions did not match: the legs were round, one side of the instructions showed them as square. (not the other side.) Now I have to drive over to Walmart to return it.
Very disappointed in the poor quality of this shelf. It is made of really cheap plastic that is all wavy. Extremely poor value for the price. I would return, but the box was destroyed.
I ordered two of these and both only came with 8 legs when the instructions say it should have 12, you can only put together three shelves not four. The package doesn't even look like they would have room for the missing four. Do not buy this product, I'm returning both of them.
