For me, it is worth the money it basically pays for itself. Yes, it melts if you don't empty it, and, you can only use purified water. Saves on buying bag ice. so worth the money, easy to use operation, doesn't take long for it to make the ice.
Cloudy ice cubes are a sign of water impurities. When I first tested with one bottled water brand, the cubes were crystal clear. A test with different type water recommended for machine, the cubes were cloudy. So, I will be testing a few more bottled waters, give the machine a thorough cleaning, try another water, and find out which water is delivering the best ice. Quiet and quick, with the capability of producing 30 lbs of ice in 24 hours. When the early warnings for hurricanes approaching are given, I'll start making ice. No more running to the store to see empty ice bins, and I'll be making ice in the comfort of my home. I needed to ensure I had the perfect dedicated outlet.. no power strips and correct amp draw. The warnings were a little scary at first, but by following all recommended safety precautions, the machine works like a charm.
Ice does not stay frozen long. Ice takes longer to make cubes. I have had 5 ice machines and this is my 2nd time purchasing this brand and I am not happy with brand.
Disappointed, the ice cubes start melting immediately . You need to empty the basket constantly or lose the ice! They r so wet they stick together when you transfer to a freezer, then need to pound on them to break apart to use.
Since we purchased this ice maker a few weeks we have had some kind of issue with it. For example, the add water light comes on and the container is more than half full. Unit cuts off by itself. When pressing some of the control buttons they don't work half the time. Think I read this product was going to stop being manufactured. I can see why.
the ice maker is too small, cheaply made and does NOT put outq 40Ibs of ice per day. I'm lucky if it puts out 5. the ice cubes melt if you don't get them immediately which is unconventiate if you're qsleeping or gone. i am going to return this item and get another. i have had many other machines in the past and this is by far the worst!!
The machine was misrepresented as a $300 value. It is actually a knock off of more expensive model. The cubes constantly get stuck on the upper level or the cube maker, which stops the machine from making ice, and allowing the cubes in the bin to melt, before new cubes are produced. The machine was presented as a black Friday sale, and since it was on the Walmart site, I trusted it. This was not a Walmart item. I am quite disappointed and not sure how to return.
I have only had it 6 days , the ice only making 2 cubes, something is wrong with the machine, trying to get a hold of manufacturer to see about a replacement,
I tried to return the ice maker and Wal Mart referred me to the MAKER. i I semt them a Msg and to date NO RESPONSE. I again contacted the Seller (WalMart) and again no response. I have contacted Wal Mart but to date no reponse. The ice maker makes small ice with a hole in the middle. If you use the ice in any liquid it melts almost immediately. Please Help on the Return. I so not use the worthless machine/
We purchased 2 of these one for us the other as a gift. The one we gave as a Christmas present does not work. It just cycles the water through the process and eventually dumps the water back into the tank and restarts the cycle. 0 ice cubes. Cannot be returned, cannot reach the manufacturer, cannot get ice.
