This composter works really well! It produces a nice, heat dried and ground (equivalent to coffee grounds) supplement that can be added to your traditional compost or directly to your beds Wile not "real" compost (not biologically active because of the heat-dry), it also doesn't stink, can store for months without mold, etc., and contains the calcium from the egg shells, acid from the coffee grounds, etc.

I got tired of composting, it took to long in my totes for kitchen stuff to decompose, I put as much kitchen scraps for my worm beds as I had room for, now making my first run in my new modern product, it was a great price, I saved about $200.00 from the suggested price, I'm hoping it lives up to the expected results as advertised in the reviews, My first lichen composter, so —- will see

I purchased a Vitamix Composter about 5 years ago. The improvements IDOO over my original composter are outstanding: (a) the control panel is in front rather than on top of the composter; (b) the bin is lightweight and easy to remove and place in composter; (c) the dial to open and close the composter, with c showing on the control panel helps determine the status of the compost; (d) the noise level is nominal; (e) the design fits with kitchen items; (f) the compost is excellent.

I'm so happy with this food composter. I run it once per week with my coffee grounds, egg shells, and fruit and vegetable scrapss. It works great to make pre-compost to put on my plants. It is easy to use and works every time!!

Works well. Food comes out as dried pre compost you can store away without worry. Bucket is really small so don't expect to use it on family meals. Really a one person deal. But it's good. Need to buy new filters every so often apparently but that's nothing too major and maybe it can be modded to use cheaper filters. So def check this out.

although this item does work, there should be a warning or it should include a tray for it to sit in because regardless of what you add, the process produces a lot of water that soaks the countertop both open and closed. im debating returning it...if i keep it it will definitely need a tray of some sort for it to sit in.

It works great and does the job well. Only gave it a 3 Stars because it takes longer to run then I expected 6 hr minimum and has a loud humm I can hear from 2 rooms away.

The item I received was used!! no where in the description did it say opened, used.

This worked fine for the first 2 attempts. The last 6 attempts have been pointless. After the drying phase, it starts grinding. Despite only including the items allowed in the composter, it seizes up and give me an error message. It's a big mess inside. The dirt sticks in layers along the bottom and the side. The center dome is caked in a mess that doesn't want to peel off. The non-stick coating is disappearing. I cut everything into small pieces before I use it, so this should not be happening. I've attached photos. I've contacted their warranty department to see if they will fix the problem. I'll update this if they actually honor their warranty and don't just blame this on user error.

This isn't a composter. More likely useful to make smaller garbage. It really dehydrates and almost burns your leavings. Also took forever, even tho' I stopped it and drained out some liquid. I imagine all the good stuff I want for composting was burnt out.
