We use this with app %26 it works well. The oximeter is rechargeable with usb-C connection. Wait for reading to appear on phone, then remove from finger. Do not take deep breaths while getting reading, that's cheating!
I order this little iHealth Pulse Oximeter for my self since I have begun to have breathing problems and it has proved to be such a good thing for me. It isn't just my imagination that I can't seem to catch my breathe and now I can show my doctor a chart of what is happening thanks to this simple little device!! It helps me to know when I am slipping into the danger zone/lack of oxygen so I can get my oxygen tank on and not pass out and really hurt myself. We have come up with a treatment plan now and things are just so much better for me and I have the confidence when I venture outside my home and to not be confined to my indoor condenser that so limits the distance I can go! It is so easy to use, so easy to carry with you, and you have your answer in seconds so you can do something about the problem and feel better in no time at all. Thank you iHealth for a little peace of mind!
My spouse used one of these after his heart surgery, to monitor the oxygen level in his system. I worried about the fact that he didn't use it any longer since he came home from the hospital. With this new Oximeter, we are able to continue to monitor his levels and keeps us comfortable with that knowledge. I would recommend this to any person that has health issues. Just download the APP to your smartphone and you can track your reading anywhere. All the instructions are simple to follow and easy to use with your bluetooth on the smart phone.
I was very excited about getting to try this product through the Spark Review program. My husband and I are both senior citizens, 58 & 63 years old. He has a heart condition and I suffer with respiratory infections throughout the year. Being able to check our oxygen rate is crucial at times. I also have a fast heart rate at times and am required to monitor it frequently. This would also be a great product for those folks who are able to do cardio workouts or Zumba. The unit was quickly charged by plugging into a USB port on our computer. It required only 3 hours of charging. The unit is easy to use. Just insert a finger, push the power button and within seconds you have a digital reading that is easy to read. I checked my heart rate with my blood pressure machine also. They were both reading the same. The unit is comfortable. It is lightweight and can be easily carried in my purse. It also has a free app which can be downloaded on any phone. I have not used the app yet but plan to in the future.
Bluetooth connected to my iPhone and iPad with no effort, and as I use both I found that all my data is on both. No effort on my part, they keep both up to date. The Oximeter is very well built and looks very good. The readout is very visible and instant. The app is free from Apple and I'm able to keep a history of time stamped info. Very simple, easy to use. I'd highly recommend this.
Works great. I especially like that this can connect to the ihealth app which will store the history and allow you to see the.trends lover time.
iHealth Wireless Pulse Oximeter I have been using a pulse oximeter that I bought from Walmart for over five years as a result of COPD diagnosis and three hospital stays for pneumonia. It measures two things: 1) Pulse Rate (in beats per minute) and 2) the oxygen saturation level of your blood (otherwise known as SpO2) The iHealth model measures these two areas also but adds a third: perfusion index. Perfusion index is an indication of the pulse strength at the sensor site. The PI's values range from 0.02% for very weak pulse to 20% for extremely strong pulse. To get this third rating the monitor needs to be synchronized to a free downloadable app from iHealth installed on your cell phone. There are apps available for both Apple and Android phones. The phone is synchornized using the blue tooth feature of your phone. (The box my ihealth monitor came in mentions Apple but not Android. If you have an Android phone simply go to the google apps area and you will see the iHealth application.) (Also, the iHealth app contains the software for both the pulse oximeter and the blood pressure monitor.) Having said all of that - I am personally and primarily interested in the oxygen saturation level of the blood and the pulse rate so I don't check the perfusion index very often (but am glad it is there.) What I really like is the fact that no replaceble batteries are needed. No AAs or AAAs. The battery is rechargeable. You get a USB cable - one end plugs into a USB computer port and the other to the monitor itself. Right out of the box - the instructions tell you to charge the battery for 3 hours to begin with. Do I recommend this monitor? Yes, unless cost is an issue for you. Walmart has other models that will provide the first two measurements for less money.
If you are looking for a pulse oximeter that can be integrated with the iPhone and iPad, this is the one for you. (Your iOS device should be version 5.0 or larger and you will also need a Bluetooth 4.0 low energy BLE.) I don't have either one of these so I can't get the full benefits of the unit. The iHealth Pulse Oximeter is a very easy device to use to measure your blood oxygen saturation, pulse rate, perfusion index. and can be charged on any USB port. I have been diagnosed with cold-weather and exertion asthma and thought this device would be a great way to watch for problems such as drops in my oxygen levels. If you have an iPhone and/or iPad, you can sign up for the iHealth MyVitals app which is personalized for you and keeps track of your readings from the iHealth Pulse Oximeter plus other iHealth devices such as the wireless blood pressure monitor, wireless smart glucose monitor, iHealth lite wireless scale, wireless body analysis scale, and more. If you don't have access to your iOS device, the pulse oximeter will store up to 100 readings until you have access to your device again and the readings can be uploaded to the app. If the readings exceed 100, the oldest measurements are overwritten by the newer ones. The only problem I ran in to was the cord that attaches to the device has no instructions for installation on the device. I finally figured it out, but it was a little bit difficult.
This pulse oximeter is one of the few that syncs with a phone AND easily shares data with the Apple Health app/local storage. It still requires installing the iHealth app, and I am not sure if it is possible to prevent my data syncing to their servers, but I am less concerned about the privacy of my oximetry readings and more just wanting all my data to automatically sync to Apple Health, which this does nicely. At the price point, it is double the cost of cheap pulse oximeters but significantly less expensive than some other similarly featured competitors, and 1/6 the cost of “medical grade” devices. I don't love that all pulse oximeters under $300 see to carry an allowable error of /- 2%; this is a pretty huge variant when 91% is low but acceptable but 89% can be concerning. Still, if you use it knowing that, and rely on repeat readings and trends rather than single point in time readings, this can still be a useful tool. My final comment would be that I wish the display was able to flip itself over (or be manually flipped) to accommodate my chosen finger/orientation when using it. Not a huge deal but would be nice. It is kinda cool this monitor has monitors on both sides of the fingertip insertion area, so there is no single “up” side. That certainly simplifies its use.
I got this I Health pulse oximeter because I am a Respiratory Therapist working in a Health and Rehabilitation Center . Having a small , easy to clean oximeter is very helpful and handy ! I have used this oximeter almost 2 weeks, at work before writing this review. It works well when patients / residents have good profusion *( which can be said of any oximeter as they are profusion dependent) . It also has the built in ability to trend oximeter and heart rate readings. This is not a feature I am using as I am taking up to 75 pulse oximeter readings a day on various patients. I can easily clean this between patients with sanitized clothes . It has a nice slick surface so any ink or 'crud" that gets on it easily cleans off . It is very light weight . I has rechargeable internal batteries It charges via a cable to the computer. It is nice not to worry about batteries. I have used this at work for 2 weeks on one charge . This is one is perfect for personal use and also very helpful in a health care setting.
