Intex 2-Person Inflatable Kayak with Oars, Pump & 1-Person Inflatable Kayak

These kayaks are Great!! My son and I spent all summer enjoying these kayaks in our local lakes and rivers, so we definitely got great use of them this season! I originally was thinking that I was going to want a battery operated pump, so I bought one at the same time as buying these without knowing how well the hand pump would work. I ended up returning the battery operated pump. You can literally pump up a kayak in less than 10 min with the hand pump, at ease. It would take a good half hour or more with the battery pump and you might actually run out of battery. The 2 seater was super fun and we used it the most. We learned how important it was to have the fin on in a lake though. It helps tremendously to keep your direction. We were mostly in the rivers though and we went over and through a LOT of rocks and debris and the kayaks had no trouble going through. We never got any punctures as of yet. I will say that it is almost Impossible to row upstream though. Doesn't matter how strong you are. You can read some of the currents right to get you to a safer point to shore to walk further up stream, but rowing upstream in a river is not something that will be possible in an inflatable kayak. Especially in the single. The single kayak is also Super easy to flip over. It's roomy and peaceful and fun, but if you lean too far one side or the other, you're out lol. Packing them up is probably the hardest part. Getting all the air out is difficult and truly takes two people (especially with the 2 person…). Choosing the ground that you roll them back up on is important too. Rolling them up on sand isn't great, unless it's your only choice, then you'll want to redo it and rinse it off when you get home, as sand tends to get everywhere inside the kayak too and isn't pleasant. I have mastered the folding of the kayaks and so it's quick and easy now, to where you hold open the main chambers and squeeze/fold in the sides then roll from the back to the front…. It's an art 😉 I will say the part I dislike the most is that they are tough to carry to your destination, as the canvas type bags have nylon handles are not comfortable to carry. After carrying them for any time, the handles will actually dig into your skin, yes they are that heavy! So I learned to strap it on my back like a backpack, which made it easier… until the handles ripped off the bag itself. So the bag needs some improvement. I was thinking of actually making backpack straps, as these kayaks Are Heavy, and awkward to be carrying by your side. It is much more convenient to carry on your back. I may just make a whole new bag for them as I do love these kayaks, but hopefully the company sees my review and upgrades the bags for future customers too!
