Intex 8.75" Classic Downy Inflatable Airbed Mattress, Queen

Instead of buying a mattress for $600 or more, I thought what could be better than sleeping on air...I don't fill it up to maximum capacity because that weakens it, but just so there's a little give in it. I've gone through three in the last 6 years and no matter how you slice it, it's still cheaper than a mattress which eventually wears out too and every other year, you can afford to get something new and I've never slept better. These are great.

Knowing air mattresses have a less than stellar reputation for durability in general, I recently purchased a $200 air mattress, hoping to get the best possible one. It was as tall as a regular bed with box spring and had a built in pump. As it turned out, the pump was the bad idea. Though there were no leaks in the mattress itself, putting weight on the bed (as in the weight of a normal sized person sleeping on it) forced the pump valve open and I awoke on the floor the very first night. I returned it and bought this cheap $15 Intex air mattress instead, not wanting to waste a lot of money after my first experience. While this does not come with a pump, I have slept on it for a few nights in a row without having to refill the air. When it was finally time to let the air out and put it away, I was amazed that not a single drop of air was released even after I opened the cap. It seems there is a special valve thingy that allows you to put air in when the outer cap is removed, but you have to unscrew the inner valve in order to release air. This is a huge improvement over the old ones where you have to fill it to capacity and then try to get the cap back on as quickly as possible before too much air escapes. No air escapes this mattress. At least not yet. I wouldn't recommend this as a permanent bed, but it's the only air mattress I've ever slept on that hasn't leaked even a bit, albeit less than a week old. I suppose only time will tell, but considering the price, this product has impressed me to the point where I'm considering purchasing a back up. I don't normally bother reviewing products, but in this case, I had to make an exception.

Why would you rather sleep on the couch, floor or a futon with a bar in your back when for $13 measly dollars you can sleep in comfort? I am 6' 3" 275lbs and it has supported me for a month with no issues. I bought this to toss over the (above mentioned) futon that I have in the back room of my shop. It fits like it was made especially for my 6' futon. I don't know the exact durability for something that never goes outside, but for what I paid, it is still holding air! I give it a shot of air about every 4-5 days, mostly to keep it firm for my taste, not because its "flat". So overall Value: 10 out of 10 for price Durability: 8 out of 10 based on what I paid, It isnt a $100 camping mattress. Meets Expectations: 11 out of 10 because its ONLY $13! If you used it once, it would pay for itself and its by far cheaper than one night in a motel.

Thanks to the reviews on here I went ahead and bought two of these for a weekend sleepover. Remember to buy a pump with it, as it does not come with one. It held the air through the night, no issues. The people that slept on them stated some stiffness in their necks, but not to bad considering. Would recommend to sleep on for one or two days, not more.

Purchased this Queen Airbed for guest. It is a great price for an item that sells for much more in other stores. I used a pump to inflate the Airbed which only took a few minutes. I added air as per instructions the first few days. It is very durable, and very comfortable. It will withstand a lot of weight. It is adequate size for two people. The only problem that I noticed is that I do have to add air about once a week when two heavier people are on it. Other than that it is very good for the price.

I purchased two of these mattresses for a camping trip based on price and reviews. I followed directions to inflate prior to use to allow stretching to occur. I used a Coleman air pump to inflate and deflate. Then the next day, we went camping. I wish they came with a storage bag for transporting/storage. First night of use, no issues. I did add air on second night as it was cooler than expected and seemed like it needed more air. Both air mattresses held up, I deflated both the next morning and folded up. No problems with either one. I would recommend for price. Found cheaper online for $15.97, in store was $19.94. I did site to store for pick up.

This is easy to inflate with pump purchased separately. I have one here for guests and one at my mom's house for me. It is firm enough that my back does not hurt. Take directions seriously and add some extra air the first few days and every 2 days after.

I ordered a "queen" sized air bed and paid for a "queen" size air bed. I loved that I ordered online and it was available in my local store within hours. It was convenient and saved me an unnecessary trip to a store to find out whether the item was available or not. 5 stars for that. HOWEVER, the product was unopened, boxed and labeled "queen size Intex downy air bed". It was not. When inflated, it was "full size" if that! I got it to replace a queen size so I know. The box said to send it back to the factory if needed, not the store. Since I had weekend guests and needed a spare bed, I didn't. The bed WAS NOT the right size, nor was it the size advertised. I lost several dollars and paid for something I didn't get. I will use Walmart.com again, I don't think I will purchase this product by Intex again, here or anywhere else.

As with every air mattress we have ever owned, it needs to be "topped off" with air every day. I don't know if the rubber expands from your weight after sleeping on it all night or the heat from your body but whatever the cause, it doesn't feel as full when you wake up as when you went to sleep. Not enough to bother you during the night but you need to add air the next day otherwise it is too "soft" for a second night. There is no leak, the valve closes well and since we had several with us (some old some new, some for big men and some for teenagers) and it happened to all of them, it seems to be a "normal" thing that we chalk up to weight, heat and movement that stretches it out so that the air inside just isn't enough to make it stay full. As far as comfort goes it is very comfortable. The felt on the mattress makes your sleeping bag stay in place and not slip around like it does on a plain, smooth mattress. Not as noisy as some we have owned no sweaking when you turn over. Deflates well even without the air pump in reverse. All in all it works well.

I couldn't sleep because of the terrible plastic smell. They still smell after a week. I am going to have to get rid of them because they are making my closet smell. I used them indoors, so maybe outside in a tent you wouldn't notice it as much, but with your head on the pillow right on it, I think it would still bother me. It was comfortable, but the smell is a deal breaker.
