I live in a small duplex snd my refrigerator does not have an icemaker. This icemaker is small enough that I can set it in a corner on my cabinet and it produces ice beautifully. I believe it's one of the best things I've ever spent money on. It has been a blessing to have fresh eyes constantly.
I am very pleased. My fingers and hands hurt with arthritis. I couldn't manage ice trays anymore and was doing without ice. Problem solved. It's a little loud, but I only need to run it about an hour to fill my ice bucket. It fits well beside my refrigerator. It was well worth my money for me.
It is super fast. It has been hot and humid so the cubes get a little soft, but they are cold! Our ice maker on our fridge has been out for years so this is so convenient and in the long run saving us from buying ice. We do not have room to freeze our own cubes in trays.
I've been buying portable ice makers for many years. The good on the Ionchill: Small - doesn't take up much counter space. Makes ice pretty quickly. Not loud. Not so good: Small - ice basket only holds a little ice so it takes several hours to get even 5 pounds. Only 1 size for ice. There is no water fill line so it's easy to put too much in. Bad: The cover will not stay open. You have to hold it open to remove the ice. To accumulate ice, you will have to babysit the machine and empty it very frequently.
This ice maker is HORRIBLE! To say the least. There is no way I'm supposed to stand by every 9 minutes to refill it with water just to get a few cylinder ice cubes that melt to touch…absolutely not! And I was SO excited to get this little countertop ice maker just to be highly disappointed. Like many others have stated- mine has that mysterious hole on the inside and when I say EVERY opening under this machine leaks out the water I pour in, I mean just that-it leaks something terrible!!! The customer service Number was “not in service” so I'm currently awaiting an email response regarding this purchase before I make my way back to Wal Mart and return it!
I let it sit overnight almost 24 hours from the time I took it out of the package like it said to do I cleaned it it said to wash it with warm water then I put water in it and it did two rounds, like 12 ice cubes total, and then just quit. spend a little extra money and get the good one
I really like the size of it but when I opened it and turned it on and everything it started pouring water out of the bottom of the ice machine not satisfied at all with it. whoever put it together drilled the screw all the way through the bottom causing the plastic to bust
This started leaking from the bottom after a few days (not from the drain plug). The ice cubes it made seemed wet from the beginning and thawed more quickly than the previous two such machines I've owned. The warning sticker on the plastic lid left a nasty residue. It “flashes” red when ice is full (i.e., nothing needs to be done). It's going back.
It has a hole in the bottom of it was there when I got it out of the package like someone punctured a hole in the bottom and packaged it up and sent it back. Leaked water all over my counter top and floor. If the bad reviews would have been noticeable when purchasing the product I would have never done so. Apparently this is a major problem with this product because there were several reviews about it having a hole in the bottom of it and not from the drain plug. Horrible produce and not to mention I can't take it back to the store and get a replacement or money back since it I ordered it online. It showed 4.7 stars should have also included the bad reviews about the. Hole in the bottom of it.
Worked for less than 24 hours I woke up to the “add water” light blinking red i added water, took out some water because it was over the max line i turned it off and on again i unplugged and plugged it back in lights still blinking red in “add water” extremely disappointed
