This fire starter completely impressed me with its quality right out of the package. The ferro rod feels solid and well made, not cheap or brittle like some others I've tried. This one is SOLID. This is much nicer to use than the smaller fire starters because of the grip. I was able to start fires with this easily. The compass bracelet is a nice addition.
