Lots of fun for Halloween, very flavorful and glad to be able to get them
I get candy corn every year around fall. I know it's one of those “you love it or hate it” type of treats, but Jelly Belly has the BEST candy corn on the shelf. It's hard, wax-like outer coat turns into a wonderful soft chew after biting into it! What sets Jelly Belly apart from the rest is the lack of powder/crumble that other brands seem to have.
Love this stuff! Very nostalgic of my childhood! It's my favorite candy around Halloween! I love the sweetness and buttery flavor too it. Tastes nothing like corn. It is just buttery sugar basically.
I absolutely LOVE Candy Corn, but, to me, this Candy Corn has an odd, unpleasant (to me!) aftertaste. I like so many of the Jelly Belly products, but to MY tastebuds these just taste “off” to me!
Our small group decided to pass on this item; we prefer our candy corn as a starchy candy, not a jelly. We're going back to the beans, especially the Sizzling Cinnamon.
I just bought a bag of these, and they are probably the worst candy corn I've ever had. Yes- I love candy corn, and I love most all other Jelly Belly products, but I DO NOT recommend these. The texture doesn't bother me, but the taste was terrible. The best comparison I can come up with is the way Asian Lady Beetles smell. Yeah, they taste like that.
These candy corns taste horrible and the price was ridiculous for a tiny little bag of horrible tasting candy corns!
These taste nothing like candy corn. They're really bad.
The description said this was a pack of 12 bags and I only got one bag. SUPER expensive for ONE LITTLE BAG.
At first, I was elated. A candy corn with no gelatin made by purveyor of delicious, natural tasting jellybeans, Jelly Belly? I bought two bags. I was a little trepidatious at not seeing honey, the flavor of candy corn, and also seeing sorbitol, a sugar alcohol, in the ingredients, but I thought, it'll be ok. It's Jelly Belly. I excitedly tore into the bag in the car on the way home from the store. The candy corn looked, smelled, and felt ok. I poured a handful into my hand, but decided I should use caution here, and I'm glad I did. I popped one piece into my mouth, and chewed expectantly. It tasted ok. But as I continued to chew, the flavor changed from just sugar sweetness, although lacking that crucial honey flavor, to disgustingly cloying, I'm guessing due to the sorbitol. I had to have my husband pull over to the side of the road so I could spit it out. I handed him the rest of my handful of candy corn, because I would be physically unable to eat it. He agreed with me that the flavor changed halfway through chewing, and he didn't like it, either, but he would be able to choke the rest of them down. I'm supremely disappointed. I thought I'd found a replacement for Brach's, who refuses to remove gelatin from their formula, but uses real honey and inarguably has the best flavor of candy corn on the market today. Sadly, I think I will never get to eat candy corn again until some genius comes along and creates candy without gelatin and uses honey instead of sugar alcohol, as it is the flavor essence of candy corn.
