The only problem with this product is it's so good and I can't keep it put up for what I actually need it for it never makes it to the day I need it so I keep having to buy more and more more so that's the only bad thing about this product is it it taste so good especially when you roast them my favorite And these are the perfect marshmallows to roast with
the price has invreased. they used to be one dollar, but they are still a bargain. as good as any brand name marshmallow, and a much lower price. what does "indulgent" have to do with marxhmallowe? maybe its sn AI addition to yhe teview. marshmallows are never indulgent. my answer would be N/A, if it was a choice. they melt nicely when roasting for s'mores, as a stand alone treat, and on top of sweet potatoes.
Purchased to use in my hot cocoa, to rotate some in my brown sugar so it doesn't get hard in my container, and yo use some to make s'mores. They are a reasonable size to make s'mores and about 2 or 3 for a cup of hot cocoa. I'll be using some on top of my sweet potato casserole this thanksgiving
Repeat buyer here. I was hesitant to try these marshmallows for the first time, since I'd only ever used Jet-Pufd for my Rice Krispies Treats. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could save money and get the same great result for a recipe I've been making (at popular request) for a very long time. Note: Current rice cereal treat recipes grossly misrepresent the "original" version's ingredient proportions. If you're not using a recipe handed down from 3 generations prior, you're missing out. These marshmallows have the right amount of sweetness and perfect texture for this recipe when melted sloooowly over low heat (stovetop, not microwave), together with the butter. It's important to remember that cooking is chemistry. Heating foods--all foods-- changes texture, composition and flavor. Some have much more obvious, complex ranges for change than others. Marshmallows, being mostly sugar, are one of them. Any brand of marshmallow has the potential to delight or disappoint. I couldn't give it a 5 rating for "good as a snack", as I've not ever plunked down with a bag of marshmallows to gnosh on. So if you plan to pop plain marshmallows straight-up, do seek recommendations elsewhere. But GV does deserve my 5's in the other categories for this recipe.
I have bought these marshmallows during the Christmas season for many years, and I have used them in making fudge and in hot cocoa. I am on a tight budget, so I appreciate the savings too. I am not a marshmallow gourmet, but these marshmallows are tasty and do a good job for what they are intended in my opinion. I plan to keep on buying them.
these are good. Was ordering an having them shipped. Now they won't ship. Why is it that when I find a good item I like. They won't ship anymore? It's crazy! Its convenient for me as a senior, and I don't drive and live in a rural area, that i have most of my needs shipped to my home.
I use these for crispy rice cereal bars only, and I can't detect any difference between these and the name brands. Who doesn't love to save money? Every little bit helps.
Great Value Marshmallows 10 oz bag i wrote a four-star review for this because it is delicious, fluffy, and very enjoyable to eat, but it is not that healthy. still it is very good and honestly even better than some different marshmallow companies i tried before. the marshmallows are purely white, soft, and very exciting looking especially for kids, and they taste sweet and gooey in a really satisfying way. the texture is very fluffy and light and they melt in your mouth nicely without being too hard or chewy. they are great for snacking or adding into desserts and they toast really well for s'mores. when you heat them up they melt quickly and become sticky and gooey in a good way and not in an unpleasant way. they get that nice golden melt and work perfectly with graham crackers and chocolate. the packaging is not my favorite because it gives a bit of a cheap and junky finish and doesnt feel as nice as some other brands, but the product inside is still really good so i can look past that. it seals okay and keeps the marshmallows fresh enough but the outside presentation could be better. another thing i like is that they are great for kids activities like marshmallow toothpick building crafts. i actually bought the Great Value toothpicks as well and used them together for a fun marshmallow structure activity i saw on Pinterest. my baby was able to make a little marshmallow toothpick toy craft and then eat the marshmallow after which made it even more fun (but only for kids who understand not to eat the toothpick part). overall they are a great value snack, soft fluffy and tasty, and they work really well for treats desserts and fun activities. even with the packaging not being great and not being the healthiest option, i would still buy them again because the taste and texture are really good and the price is great.
Used to be good. Now they are really hard to melt and the rice crispies turned out super hard because of increased temperature and time required to melt.
I searched for gluten free marshmallows and these came up so I bought them in a pick up order. However the label says they have modified corn starch and other nasty sounding ingredients and have this disclaimer: “contains bioengineered food ingredients.” Yuck. No thanks.
