We have watched this great movie every Easter season for about 50 years. Getting this one as a gift for Easter for someone special.

The Best
If you think Jeffrey Hunter in King of Kings is the be all end all in Jesus movies, you won't like this. IF on the other hand, you enjoy the EPITOME of song and dance to convey the Gospel message, you must see this. The youth and vibrancy in this is so stirring. I cannot convey enough the beauty of the artistry that went into this. And it is very faithful in its love of Jesus. This is hippies telling their story, this isn't Billy Graham. The group dance scene in the ruins of a temple has to be in the Top 5 of all movie history. It is so obvious God made those dancers.

Fantastic musical
No matter what your religion, or lack of, this is a fantastic movie. Music is world class, concept is fresh (even 40 years later) and best of all execution is spot on. Buy this movie and watch with an open mind and you'll never regret it (coming from a non Christian who doesn't like musicals lol)

Back in Time with Original Version
This is the original Jesus Christ Superstar version that came out in the 70's. The one I remember and love. I've seen the new version with John Legend and it's very good...modern. But It's the old version that I connected with. Remember that you're going back before cell phones, computers, internet, high definition. The actors are great.
