Love this movie.
Great movie. Great price at Walmart.
The quality of the acting is good, but the story itself is very dark. The central character is an anti-hero. The story adds fuel to the fire for the position which holds, "If a person is wronged, they have the right to take a life, as due payment for the perceived harm." That is, it seems to support vigilante revenge. According to this story, justice cannot be obtain for the "have not's" in a civilized society, because the "have's" are corrupt and they are in control of how justice is dealt out in that society. This story is not healthy viewing for some who truly struggle with this perspective in their daily lives. This story seems to use the backdrop of the "Batman vs the Joker" comic book storyline, but placed into a real world setting. It might possibly be a better "read," where it can raise these extremes of distorted societal issues in open discussion and with in-depth exploration, in the college sociology or psychology or even philosophy classroom environment. Still, due to the degree the story has divorced itself from the real world experience, it may not hold any redeeming value even in an academic setting. The wisdom of presenting such unfettered distorted views in the forum of visual entertainment without the story also juxtaposing a balancing element (hero vs anti-hero) would appear questionable, even as fantasy escapism. It does not seem enough to only imply such a balance, based upon the viewer's possible familiarity with the Batman comic book or graphic novel legend. But then again, these are simply my personal opinions. Notably, two individuals may experience the same traumatic event; one chooses to grow from the experience and decides that the ripple of abuse stops with them. Whereas, the other individual chooses to use that same experience to harbor a grudge that festers and poisons their life, and the lives of those around them. This film presentation's version of this possible "Batman story prequel" seems to promulgate the later choice; via the heroics of the "misunderstood underdog" rising up to mete out vengeance on the true "bullies," that is to say, those who a corrupt society protects from receiving the "just desserts" that they, the rich and powerful, deserve, but never seem to otherwise receive. Again, I question the wisdom of putting forth such a view as entertainment in this particular medium. There are likely viewers who such a fantasy spectacle has little more influence than water flowing off the feathers of a duck. But what about those who find themselves emotionally excited by this fantasy world, saying "Yes! He got his justice! I will too!!!" A tragedy for both that individual and the society that must address the reality of that person's choices. This story, in its film expression, in my person opinion, is not helping anyone. Any story can be made into a film; that does not mean that it should be. Just a few personal thoughts of my own. Then again, maybe I am mistaken. After all, it's just make believe. ...Right?
Movie freezes up halfway through and doesn't play regardless what you try to do. Very upset, was looking forward to thia movie.
The dvd didn't even work, good riddance since its with my ex
